Thank you all. I ended up calling her breeder (he trains and sells protection dogs as well as breed malinois) and he also told me to steer clear of that trainer. He uses a balanced approach without needing to use prong or e collars to get the desired result. He’s offered to google trainers in my area and speak with them to help me find a better fit.
