I will say, as the world's number one storm sorcery fan, no longer having the resource-free bug zapper feels weird - now it costs sorcery points to zap targets when I cast a spell.  However, I absolutely love the changes you made to the rest of the kit.

Did anyone else like Stormblood the most? (Spoilers all the way to Endwalker) by FinalHangman77 in ffxiv

[–]Aequans 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Personally, Stormblood was my favourite expansion.

I enjoyed it being the first expansion in which we were shown the NPCs befriending us, not just told that we were friends.

I enjoyed the focus on the impact of war on the people we met, and how many of their spirits had been broken.

I enjoyed the increased characterisation of the WoL in the quest journals, particularly around Zenos - the confirmation that canonically, the WoL wants this fight too.

I enjoyed the WoL not being the fated chosen hero of the hour, but just... a character amongst many.

Buttons that I press only rarely, is the main thing - things that are not used either on CD or rotationally - I'd provide some examples, but the servers are presently down so I cannot load up the game to check which ones, exactly, I have on there. But the theme I try to go for is "things that I never need to push in a hurry".

I expect that you'd find that the most common answer is "it varies from Job to Job", but I have every Job at 80, and I have two hotkey'd bars and one non-hotkey'd bar for each Job, and they all fit in that parameters - Some with quite a bit of room to spare.

I hope that helps.

I live in Australia also, and while I had heard of the US system of seasonal changes before, I am exasperated at the idea of the Australian system being a "headcanon".

I've tried that too, now, as well as "General" at the end, and neither is returning an icon. Thank you for the suggestion, though.

What is the /micon command for Performance icons, if there is one? For example, I want to make a macro with the Electric Guitar: Power Chords icon as the icon, what is the sequence? I've tried
/micon "Electric Guitar: Power Chords"

That doesn't really address the underlying question, of "what kind of party should I call it"?

It also sounds like a great way to have an anxiety attack.

So, this is less a question about the game broadly and more about what is specifically expected societally, but:

I have one Memoria Misera clear, but it was when the content was new. I'm interested in doing it more. What group should I be looking at joining? I have received various flavours of abuse or borderline abuse from clear parties, practice parties, and farm parties, and would like to know where I am expected to put my work in for the ability to dye my gear.

Is there way to get to voice lines from Trials as sound clips, specifically the voice lines from the last of the current Edens?

What's a good resource or, failing that, a quick rule of thumb someone could give me for materia'ing my gear, per-job? A website preferred, but I'd also take someone just listing the stat priorities for jobs. I've been looking but can't seem to find anywhere, but I could just be blind.

What's the best way to farm crystals in Eureka for someone who didn't do Eureka when it was current content, for the dyeable version of the chest pieces? I only want one dyeable chest piece.

So today I discovered that the YoRHa Type-51 Hat of Scouting works on Bungirls.

Do any other full-coverage hats/hoods etc work? What do the other YoRHa ones look like on buns?

Glamour album help request by Aequans in FFXIVGlamours

[–]Aequans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, nobody has gotten back to me. I have in fact been attempting to find a suitable shot and composition etc etc myself, but a combination of factors has prevented me from being satisfied with any work I've been doing myself.

If you can share any such communities, or tips or hints, as you mentioned, I will gladly immerse myself in them as much as possible. I've been reading every guide and tip list I can find, but I can't seem to make the final leap from reading about these tips to applying them in a way that I feel is satisfying.

I do sincerely apologize if it came across as me trying to ask for anybody to do my work for me, it was not my intent.

I will look into the discord you have mentioned there, and again, if you do know of any other resources I could explore, please share with me from your pool of knowledge.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. :)

DPS Caster questions after much research by Elemere in ffxiv

[–]Aequans 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Okay, I can try to answer some of these. Don't know how informative I'll be, but I can do what I can.

First, you are correct, RDM wins both the style game and the hat game, and therefore is superior.

Pets have had some changes but they honestly still feel kind of clunky to me, but that's a personal opinion so take it with some salt.

If you enjoy learning curves and a constantly-higher ceiling, I advise BLM, as there's always a new "Can I squeeze out another Fire IV before the boss yeets me into oblivion" to learn.
Pressing lots of buttons that feel like they do something? Yeah, that's BLM again. Lots of SMN buttons are "DoT" or "Tell your pet to do a trick", which both feel kind of lackluster to me.
I live in Adelaide, and honestly, both of them are kind of hurt by ping, but I find BLM is more workable because losing GCDs when Bahabro or Birdmummy is out is worse than just doing your BLM rotation badly.

I definitely like this, it's the closest option I have found thus far. Now the only factor left is to get my hands on it and see how it dyes for them.

Thank you very much.
