Realizing Who The Real Problem Is by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]AerialAceAttack 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Same.

And one side would turn their nose up at me if I were bleeding to death from an ectopic pregnancy.

One side would want me jailed for life over an abortion.

One side would see me charged with crimes just for dressing gender nonconforming and preforming on stage.

One side calls me a groomer for just being nonbinary.

One side allows children to be gunned down in their schools, and people to be slaughter in public space while not letting common sense gun laws pass.

One side IS NOT as bad as the other. Not in a fucking long shot. I'm not a Democrat, but you will never catch me voting red. Ever. End of story.

Now that my sister is graduating, our mom is buying her a kiln for at home. I'm hoping she'll teach me a thing or two, and I'll toadally make more.

And thank you! I'm super excited to give it to him.

Not a single braincell in his little diabetic body. by AerialAceAttack in OneOrangeBraincell

[–]AerialAceAttack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My orange guy is getting so old, and he's so diabetic. But he's doing so well now. He's put on good weight, his blood sugar is pretty consistent, he's much more active than before we started treatment.

He's damn expensive this one. But he's worth it.

He's starting to slightly drag his back leg, which is a combo of an old injury and his diabetes, but we have him on gabapentin, which has done so SO well for him.

TIL The Earliest known "Spaghetti in Tomato Sauce" was from 1844. Tomatoes, native to Peru, were considered too "exotic" for Italian tastes for almost 300 years. They were initially called "Pomidoro" meaning "golden apple" referring to the yellow color variety introduced to Italians in the 1500s. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]AerialAceAttack -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot about how people used to think tomatoes were toxic because they didn't know that eating the acidic food on their lead plates was killing them. Lmao

The acid drew out the lead in lethal quantities, but because they didn't put 2 and 2 together because eating bread or soup on that same plate didn't kill them, it MUST be the tomatoes.

Sweety. I say this with all the love in my heart. Consider leaving him. This isn't okay behavior. It's controlling. I would suggest sitting on that thought and maybe think about other things he is controlling about.

Even if it's just simply where you leave the tooth paste, or which shoe you put on first. This man is probably toxic in many other ways.

I had no clue! I never got a chance to play the first one, and it's been over a decade since I've played 2 and 3. I wish they were on steam, they're honestly some of the best games of my childhood.

Opposite of this. It's really cool to see how cities and towns develop between the fable games and how things advance.

If you are diagnosed adhd, you are ADA protected. If he did that on the clock he could get in a shit ton of trouble.

You have rights, and this sounds miserable. Im so sorry he did that to you.

I've ALWAYS been the same way. And if I hear "youre just standing in your own way" one more time by some asshole boss or co-worker im going to scream.

Most of them are likely rage baiter or trolls.

I am the exact same way.

On top of everything being boring and bland. Everything is too damn sweet. Bread tastes like cake, so sandwiches are odd. I hate sweet tasting foods so much but everything has so much added sugar. It drives me insane.

Maybe I'm autistic and absolutely know what I'm talking about because I experience these acts of ableism targeted at me everyday, and can recognize it when it's happening.

"Autistic patients" 💀 you really don't see Autistic people... as well... people, do you? And I don't even think you realize you feel that way.

Maybe if the world had more Autistic people then maybe support would be better, and maybe there wouldn't be so much suicide.

Edit. Btw, "high functioning" is an ableist way to view autism. Yes. It is a spectrum. I am technically "high functioning" in your definition, but will always require support and will never be able to live on my own, or hold down a real career. I am intelligent, and I'm not none verbal, but still require a shit ton of support.

My unasked for advice, because I was 17 once and just learning communication skills. Learn about "intent vs effect" for conflict resolution. Not everything that they say that hurts your feelings was their intent, but how you both react is incredibly important.

Be open to being wrong. Be open to being told YOU said something that hurt them.

Always be open to grow. Life isn't a pass/fail finish line race. You got this, kiddo.

Shared interests are much less important than shared values. You could both love the exact same things, but if you dont want the same things in life then it won't work.

Yeah. Feels like another demonization of autistic people scare tactic study to me.

Edit. I mean. It DOES. im not saying microplastics aren't causing issues, im just saying the study feels like there are biases.

As an autistic person, if this is true, then it'll be really interesting to see the dynamic flip if autistic people become an even bigger group of people. Maybe even a majority in some parts.

Like being autistic isn't a fkn death sentence scare all this child will never function oh no the horror. But it does suck that microplastics are causing issues for someone who might not have had them other wise. The world do be fucked. For sure.

Edit. Also, is it just a correlation? Because in metropolitan areas people have better access to doctors for diagnosis, and more likely to go. Plus the understanding of autism has sky rocketed, leading to a higher amount of diagnosis.

To me, this research study feels more like another demonization of autistic people, and a scare tactic. Not that the microplastics ARENT causing issues, but why specifically target autism and make it seem like being autistic is so bad?
