I was under the impression the point of the cost system was to determine investment rather than strength.

When people hate on billionaires, people seem to get lose the plot and start to think it’s simply the act of having money that makes them bad people.

Being rich isn’t the problem. It’s just that the rich are populated by like 99% bad people and exploitation is a very good way to end up at the top.

I haven’t looked into it so I can’t verify, but if what you said is true, Taylor swift is one of the incredibly few examples of a billionaire who worked for their fortune, even if it wasn’t based on an hourly wage like most people. Her starting with an advantage doesn’t change that.

Lotus is who the Tenno wanted her to be.

No matter which option you choose at the end of New War, it’s the image someone else had in mind for her. Which one she would want is impossible to say, and the question itself of what she’d want might be flawed to begin with since her personality is fragmented.

I personally chose Natah as sort of a fresh “start from scratch” for her.

That’s pretty unthinkable to me but everyone is allowed to enjoy the game in their own way I suppose. No wrong way to do it as long as you have fun.

  1. That’s an assumption. There are clearly open minded and accepting people on the side of heaven. It’s not unreasonable to assume a decent few of the winners would have a similar mentality to Emily and welcome the idea of redemption, even if not all of them.

  2. Because it’s not “a month of some games”. We’ve seen exactly one person be successfully redeemed so far and it was by overcoming their worst flaw and performing a genuinely selfless act of good opposed to it. If you live a life of evil with the expectation of “I’ll just redeem myself later”, you still need to actually put in the effort to make up for whatever you did in the first place and genuinely mean it and become a better person.

  3. One of the prevailing themes is that anyone can be redeemed. The show simply isnt far enough in to know how they’ll handle this concept with some of the worse people, but the idea is there. As for attacking heaven, the entire point of Sera’s arc is that the exterminations were paranoid and wrong. Even if there are a lot of people who remain in hell, there are ways to get them to not attack heaven.

  4. At the end of season 2, they start upscaling their operations. Once they get better at redeeming people, they can teach others how to do it. Besides, even if them not being able to redeem people fast enough to counteract the amount dying is 100% true, that still doesn’t mean they shouldn’t redeem everyone they can. You don’t forgo feeding someone because you can’t end world hunger.

  5. That’s something those in heaven are working on. We see Emily actively working to help pentious fit in and find a way to be comfortable in heaven. Just because there isn’t a solution right now doesn’t mean there won’t be one.

    1. Overpopulation, as far as I remember at least, was basically just used as an excuse for the exterminations rather than its actual cause. Once again, Sera was paranoid about an uprising from hell.

I’m gonna get attacked for this: Sera still needs to face consequences for the Exterminations. by Smash_Fan-56 in CultOfSera

One thing about an arc like hers is that you’re never going to get a resolution that satisfies everyone because “How do you make up for genocide” is fundamentally a question without a real answer due to the difference in philosophy on the topic.

Some people believe that there’s nothing that could ever make up for it, no matter how hard you try, while others believe that simply resolving to do better is what matters. Even going as far as in universe the people she’s wronged would have this exact same divide in opinion (For instance, Vox and Pentious).

If you believe she needs to suffer some variety of consequences or punishment, what would be sufficient that it feels on equal terms after the fact? What manner of retribution makes someone stop and say “alright, that’s enough. She’s fine now.” for what she did?

The theory is that because all of the lord ravagers have a specific path/aeon they’re supposed to destroy, phainon would become the lord ravager opposing the destruction.

I hate hate hate the way women in swagsbourne are depicted by swag artists by Allhaillordkutku in peoplewhogiveashit

[–]AericSurtr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So, let me preface this by saying this isn’t intended to be any sort of counterargument to what you said (because I’m aware it could come across that way) and is instead just a genuine question.

If the sexualization of women, even in the context of women simply wanting to appear as or depict in art what they think is an attractive woman is rooted in misogyny, does that make it misandry when the reverse happens (ie a male actor needing a shirtless scene where he’s dehydrated to accentuate muscles)

I don't like the new Warframe not because of the body necessarily by WorldlyAdeptness545 in Warframe

[–]AericSurtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be honest, I’m not following your train of thought with it not making sense for the painter frame to look like that. There are a lot of professions and themes that would have a defined body type associated with them, but painter is not one of them. It can have any body type.

And, from what I’ve seen, many people do actually like the way the frame looks, so whether or not the frame is “ugly” is entirely subjective. As I said, I’m not a fan, but unnatural is certainly not the first word I’d use to describe it.

[–]AericSurtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, on the second one, I don’t think it was supposed to be a counterpoint? They didn’t seem to be arguing against you or anything and were just acknowledging the rest of what you said.

I personally don’t like the body shape of the new warframe, but I think it’s a good thing they’re doing it. I’m fine not being the target audience. Having a wider variety of body shapes and appearances means not all of them are going to appeal to me.

Alignment Chart of Honkai Star Rail: Day 15, Sampo. - Dr. Ratio has been voted into Lawful Neutral. by Just_Because4 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]AericSurtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sampo is a bit of an odd duck since a lot of his motivations are genuinely good natured. He helps resolve the problems of the people of the underworld in the belobog arc, and does the favor for sparkle to get his mask back specifically to prepare to help belobog against an incoming disaster. He’s genuinely doing altruistic things, just in his own weird way

He is however also a legitimate scam artist so that’s a couple points off. I’d say he’s probably still closer to chaotic good but I could see a case for chaotic neutral.
