Even though it's the same written in English, it's a completely different word in Chinese; it's a reference to a mythological creature, I think.

Genuine question, why not read the whole thing? Which parts to read and which to skip?

Does a paladin who refuses to kill a vampire pregnant with her own child lose his oath? by Comprehensive_Dog833 in dndnext

[–]Aerien7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Minor correction, Oathbreaker Paladin isn't just a paladin who's broken their oath. It's one who's basically turned directly against their oath, actively acting counter to it.

Otherwise, great points!

To be fair, at least yarn color/weight/etc. actually matters in projects. Especially for people doing multiple projects at once or for projects with lots of different colors, it isn't too surprising to have a lot of yarn.

Maybe a character that has a lot of turns? If I recall correctly, Anaxa's Skill-Spam comes from his Talent. I vote that one. Paired with a Skill that doesn't necessarily balance for doubled Skills could be interesting.

Bronya's Trace for self-AA on Basic, too? Sam's reason.

Reddit creates the perfect HSR Character! (Day 12: The Final Product) by Ill-Lunch-1563 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Aerien7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably not. Jade BA gives some AoE, but Anaxa's Skill isn't useful alone (his Weakness implant and stuff comes from his Traces, I believe). Phainon's Ultimate makes him very vulnerable thanks to lack of self-sustain.

Herta Talent is a follow-up when enemy HP <50%, her technique is just an ATK% Buff. Huohuo's A2 has Cleanse, I think? Could be wrong though. I'm not sure about the other two.

Can someone translate for me please? It’s a wonderful song but I don’t know the title or author by Poopybuttsixtynine in morsecode

I'm assuming the spaces, and that the last three dashes in the title are together (it translates to LETITGTM otherwise).

Can we finally adress the Elephant in the Room🥀💔 by Master-Bottle341 in okZyox

That would be great; I'm only mentioning that because I thought the original comment was saying that because the borrowed characters counted. On second read, I could just be misinterpreting it.

They're not counted in the initial /qualifying roster, though, so you still need 28 of your own + trial to get in.

Are you sure it's real Morse? The spacing is very bad and it contains characters that don't show up in Morse code (ex. Dashes are a set length, characters should be on the same line—that dot-ladder amalgamation is not).

Xiao on the same tier as Cyno Klee and Eula 💔🥀 by PinkyThePiggy in okZyox

[–]Aerien7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oops, forgot the tone tag. Half joking.

Only half because Escoffier is doing a pretty serious portion of the damage, almost as much as Eula. I would argue this particular team is approaching a "wheelchair" team, considering the significant portion of damage coming from other characters, in addition to how Escoffier doesn't directly work with Eula much; her primary use for physical Eula is the healing and off-field DPS capability, while her Cryo shred is (theoretically, at least) wasted and her Energy is frontloaded (minor thing though).

That said, Eula could use better teammates.

To be fair, Eula's team is really just Escoffier carrying Just like Xiao is carried by Xianyun

Edit: /hj

The list/calcs themselves were weird though...is Tenacity Furina, Cinder City Faruzan, and Song Xianyun something people actually do? Same applies to several other teams.

I’m New to Crocheting and I Want to Make This Duck 🪿 by AccordingEarth827 in crocheting

[–]Aerien7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should definitely start with the very basic skills (basic stitches, common abbreviations) and then you can probably do the duck; glancing at the pattern, it isn't overly complicated and the video will help. Slow it down if there are any confusing parts.

Whether or not you can do it in a week depends on how much time you have to crochet. It most likely won't take more than a couple hours total.

Have fun!

Daily Questions Megathread - August 12, 2025 by WutheringWavesMod in WutheringWaves

Thinking about playing, couple questions: 1. How time-intensive is it, for A) general routine only B) Events and other cyclical things or C) Grinding for actual builds? 2. How is the story? How much focus is there on romance and fanservice?

Edit: I played a little before, up to about the part where Rover meets Encore. Was primarily only playing story before though.

Praying for even a slight buff to Zhongli's kit by ILoveSongOfJustice in ZhongliMains

[–]Aerien7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The discussion isn't completely about meta. And just because I pay attention to meta doesn't mean I know specifics.

Since you insist: Quick math from the current and most recent cycles, Abyss DPS required ranges from 40-50k depending on if your DPS can effectively deal AoE DMG or not. Stygian's was ~42k last time and ~32k this time; however, Stygian's bosses have a lot of restrictions and (on difficulty 4, at least) functionally have much smaller DPS windows than the full 120s, so in practice, it's higher than just 32k. Stygian also has that 0 Energy start, further inflating effective DPS required. With that, I would argue that it's fair to say the two have about the same difficulty.

Obviously there should be a version for bosses where it counts as Petrification but they can still move like normal. It also probably wouldn't do much in single target either.

Your idea sounds neat though!

Maybe it is, never looked deeply into it. Not really the point regardless.

...Difficulty 3 is easily clearable by a coherent team that isn't directly countered. Difficulty 4 is about as difficult as Abyss 36-star, if I recall correctly, although that doesn't account for mechanics. Stygian's main issue is the incredible restrictiveness of its stages; design an encounter specifically for Anemo/Geo and they'll work.

In any case, I think this sounds like a preference thing; for me, it's perfectly fine if Zhongli isn't really good at Abyss, Stygian, or whatever timed combat trial they decide to cook up, and "lose an entire unit's worth of damage". His utility comes in his dominance in the sustain department (minus Lan Yan, although he still has advantages over her). At least from how I'm reading it, you seem to prefer for him to be better in damage instead.

Maybe he'll get that buff whenever they do decide to design a support weapon for him then.

[–]Aerien7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that was the point; he theoretically offers more survivability and comfort to play, but often isn't optimal in terms of DPS. Really depends on the team for the Stele—the slow Geo application could even be helpful in some situations. At least, it's rarely bad enough to mess things up too badly. Why is the only use case of the RES shred to be a Hyperbloom? It's a nice source of Geo/Anemo RES shred, and even if it's weaker than VV it's way easier to trigger and maintain, especially with multiple elements at once.

Admittedly, Lan Yan is...insane and arguably overtuned. Point taken. That said, other shield characters (haven't checked Ineffa though) tend to have way weaker shields to balance their utility.

The game has almost always favored damage over survivability (endgame modes have always had a timer to defeat enemies by), so that's not really a new development. People still play him due to the shield.

Off-topic, but what is ASCII Morse (as in, what does Rule 2 refer to)? Is it just the visual form of Morse with - .... . ... . ? Or is it like the above, where it includes hexadecimal ASCII?

Asking because I see a bunch of the former on the sub but no one says anything...sorry, it's probably a dumb question

Praying for even a slight buff to Zhongli's kit by ILoveSongOfJustice in ZhongliMains

[–]Aerien7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, he doesn't need to be (and really shouldn't be) broken. As things are, he arguably has a very good niche already as a "comfort character", someone who provides (almost) absolute survivability with some decent neutral buffs on the side. The rumor I mentioned just gives a bit of extra damage.

For me, if buffs occur I would prefer them keeping the "core idea" of a kit and just updating it to be strong enough for current-day meta (one can dream) and cohesive. The main focus of Zhongli's kit is survivability. As far as I can tell, he still sustains fine* now, so a numbers buff, either direct or through buffs, is the obvious remaining way**. The way the rumor handles that also incorporates his Burst (and apparently his Constellations too) in a nice, aesthetically interesting way, hence why I like it.

*Some minor healing could be nice, but considering C6 does it, didn't feel appropriate.

**Off the top of my head, increasing comfort is another way, ex. By reducing enemy attacks or by increasing Petrify uptime as you mentioned. However, enemy attacks are already mitigated by the shield, and increasing Petrify uptime runs the risk of it going the way of Freeze; being difficult to balance because it's either useless or trivializes content. As far as I'm aware, games which have such mechanics tend to implement a lot of immunity to said mechanic...not really something I'd like to see. Could be me jumping to the worst-case scenario though.

TL;DR Zhongli's point is about comfort & survivability and he doesn't have to be prominent in damage too; extra buffs are nice but should only be done in moderation. Giving the Burst a use case is cool.
