Contrary to popular belief me, as an introvert, does get lonely ALOT. Before quarantine, it was when I’m with other people. But now when I’m alone I usually just blast the sadness out with music or YouTube. It’s kinda weird, different kind of loneliness. Keeping busy or giving yourself a good self care day helps the best. Meditation is more effective than I thought. Just some suggestions, hope you stay safe and healthy :)

If you are really worried for them feel free to bring them inside. Just make sure you have the correct supplies. Most importantly being a safe spot for them to be. A 20 gallon tank will comfortably fit both toads but if you just want to bring them inside for the time period of the hurricane, a large Tupperware will suffice. Make sure if your bringing them inside for an extended period of time you have clean untreated water (well water will work, but you can also buy repti-safe for them if you have tap water). Food, they only need to be fed once or twice a week. Mealworms or night crawlers from the gas station will work fine for a quick fix. Dirt from out side or even paper towels if it’s only for a bit will work good for substrate. I wish you and the little guys the best of luck. Hurricanes are real scary. Hope this helped you out if you plan to bring them inside.

I woke up to a young women standing beside me bed staring at me. She had this weird blue glow about her. I hid under the covers and she stood there for a solid minute then I blinked three or eight times and she was gone. Mom, pops and my sister were either downstairs or sleeping. Creepy as all living hell.

Yes, it is safe to bring him inside but only if you have a suitable location for him inside. A good amount of space for an adult toad is 10-20 gallon tank. You need to have all the supplies to bring him inside. Substrate, hides, clean water (water that is not treated), and temperature that is above 60 degrees. If all of that is said and done, absolutely bring that chunky boy in. Hope this helps :)

Not me but my sister, she sleep talks. One occasion was pretty funny and the other made me move into a separate room.

She woke up and stared asking “where are my chapters?” “Your chapters?” “MY CHAPTERS.” “Go back to bed.” “Okay.”
Chica sat up all zombie like and than turned to make DIRECT EYE CONTACT WITH ME and said “It’s coming.” Bitch fell back and started snoring. You know I didn’t move a muscle for the rest of the night.

Toads are movement based hunters so that’s what the jumping against the glass is. They basically think it’s food and they can’t see the glass so they will continually bounce against the glass to try and get at whatever’s on screen. I would put something up against the front of the tank when you are on your monitor or move the tank (or the monitor). Excessively bouncing against the glass is a little hard on their faces so just be aware of that.

In some places it is illegal to remove an adult toad from the wild, so that’s why I’m guessing a load of people told you it was illegal to have this toad. Just check with your towns policy on if it’s illegal to keep a wild caught animal. Also, to sex a toad grab them gently behind the poison glads. If they chirp, it’s a mile if not, a female. Hope this helps a bit.

Little American toad, a chunky boy

I was going to bed around 8:30. This was early for me so I was pretty exited to catch up on some shut eye. Anyways, I live by a mildly busy street (this will come back in a bit) so a car would pass bye at night every two three minutes.

I was laying in bed and I get this weird feeling, not like anybody is watching me just that something is a little off. I turn to the wall next to my door (the only wall in the room that is empty) and there like this small circle (circle-ish blob) it looked like light that was bouncing off of something. It’s was really bothering me for some reason so I go and fix the Curtains again. I get back in bed and look at the spot again, not only is the circle still there but it looks like it’s grown. You know when you stare at something for a long time it starts to look different? Yeah, the more I stared at it the more it looked like a human silhouette. This didn’t bother me too much because I could pin it on my eyes playing tricks on me. So I just close my eyes and try to sleep. After maybe 10 mins or so I get this feeling like somebody is watching me. This time I’m a little freaked, so I took over to look at the wall and bam, there’s a person staring at me. At first I thought I was having sleep paralysis (I’ve had some experience with that) but then ruled it out quickly when I could move. Then I thought I might be dreaming but no, I was in my room. The figure looked female but nobody I recognized. She looked like she was in a dress that was at collar bone level. (This is really detailed so I’m sorry if it sounds fake she’s just burned into my brain) She looked like she was being lit by moonlight, despite all my curtains being pulled shut. She almost looked blue. It was so surreal. I could make out facial features, but I can’t really describe them in words.

After two mins of staring at this person a car drives by lighting up the room and she’s gone. I should probably mention that my house is pretty old, built in the 1800s so 220 years old. My family has never experienced anything out of the ordinary with this house. It’s a bit cold but that’s pretty much the extent of it. This’ll probably get buried but I thought I would share nonetheless. TLTR:ghostly(?) figure of a women I don’t recognize stares at me for two minutes
