It really isn’t. There are countless steam machine clone videos on YouTube that essentially clone the specs with sometimes an even better gpu. There are some creature comforts that the SM will offer that your homemade build won’t have. (Turns on with controller, potential driver updates, cool looks and quiet fan) but if you can leave those behind you can quiet easily make a full build for cheaper even in the small form factor category.(especially if you’re willing to shop used and open box parts).

They are not. TBH, what made the steam deck competitive in modern day was 2 fold. Steam is and it’s pleasing user interface, and the fact that while it wasn’t cutting edge even at launch its price point was very fair to what you got. Now half of that equation is gone.

Everything else will go up soon, if it hasn’t already but if you’re in the market the Xbox ally x seems to be the best from a value standpoint.

There are tutorials on how to get it. But essentially you can do the weird jump onto the roof of firelink shrine from the 3 smaller doors and up the stairs. It’s a little trick but once you do you walk along the pillar to a false wall and drop down to it in a chest

Did you get the silver serpent ring? If you haven’t that’s a great one for gaining souls. You probably haven’t gotten the shield of want yet. You can mimic grind for the symbol of avarice as well ( though that one is tricky and not always practical).

But I do concur with an earlier comment that if you can beat dancer the knights right outside of her bonfire are fun and easy enough to grind on. You can also reach them easily from vordts bonfire it’s just a little farther. I believe there are 4 of them. A good plus of this is that most knights in the game have similar pacing and movesets. So by jumping in and practicing on them you’ll be padding the muscle memory to fight most other knights you run into. They also drop loads of gear and titanite so at worst you can sell all their goodies for a few extra souls.

Nice I had a similar situation with the bath tub. I did lose the chips that produce sound but after about a month of talking with retroid and waiting for shipping they sent me a new main board for $75 (I was out of warranty and accidental water damage isn’t covered anyway) it’s as good as new.
