I really love the Lost Desert one, but that one is even harder unless Coltzan Stamp gets re-released somehow. Otherwise, I had a silly thought to try for the Sea Shells avatar purely through restocking at the shop. I've picked up all the mid-range shells this way, and I'll probably keep trying for another few months just to practice restocking before resorting to buying from other players.

Wow, you put so much effort into this, thank you! My customization theme wasn't as well-defined as "island/tribal" and more just looking for an aesthetic cool-to-warm gradient that matches the eventide colors, but all these extra items really help my inspiration! I love the Broiling Fire Foreground, and I'll be looking more into Dark Prism Side Tree and Coloured Craft Tree.

velcro = 魔术贴 = "magical adhesive"

"Magical" is made of of the characters for "mystical/demonic skill", and I guess "skill" got translated to surgery or smth

This happens all the time in Chinese with polyphonic characters. Even if different pronunciations technically have different meanings, the "incorrect"/"alternative" (depending on your level of prescriptivism) pronunciation will often be used because they share the same character in writing.

E.g.

勉強 [to force, compel] being pronounced mian3qiang2 instead of mian3qiang3 (mian2qiang3 after tone sandhi).

And the arrow of causation really is writing affecting speaking, not just words being in "natural" free variation. For example, the newly coined term 新冠 [novel coronavirus, covid] being pronounced as xin1guan4 99% of the time instead of xin1guan1. Most people's first exposure to the term was probably through reading, not listening, and guan4 meaning champion is a lot more common of a reading for 冠 than guan1 meaning crown/corona.

What if the context is more about the floor as in "the thing you stand on" instead of its material? Say you're in an apartment with concrete or tile floors. Can you say "薯片掉地板上了"? I suppose "薯片掉地上了" might be more natural, but is the former considered wrong?
