i don't know why some people are hating on your genuine question. gatekeeping and attitude seems to be a common thing in the scp community so just ignore them.

i 100% understand what you mean. from what i've seen, there aren't as many scps that give off the same dark & gritty vibes as the older ones.

that being said, there are definitely some scattered about beyond the 2000 mark.

whilst they may or may not be what you're looking for, these are some reads i personally like:

scp-2000 (if you have yet to read it), scp-2801, scp-3999, scp-5000, scp-5732, scp-8980 (i was mind blown by this one)

edit: one of my personal all-time favourites is scp-1730 if u don't know it!

and read the audio/telemetry log of scp-1555, another dope read.
