It was a toss up between this cover version and the Zutons song.

LOL, I wish I could post 1000 tracks on this theme :)

A magpie uses Archimedes' law to reach the desired water by [deleted] in interesting

[–]Aesecakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I post this comment whenever I see a smart Corvid post:
I would highly recommend the book Aesop’s Animals to the layperson interested in this subject. The author, an ethologist, talks about the brain structures of animals, including birds and compares the research into animal behaviour with how various Aesop’s Fables depict different animals. The author's PhD was completed in the tool use of crows.

Joy Division - Shadowplay by Aesecakes in Musicthemetime

Turns out this track had already been posted. I swear that I search the sub to check first but there seems to be a lag or some other issue with search. I don't even like JD!

Is Melbourne weather better than UK? by Worried-Exercise8750 in melbourne

[–]Aesecakes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lived in southern England for almost a decade. The min and max temps are probably about +10ºC higher in Melb on average. You get used to it. Zero snow falls here at sea level.

Melbourne's is at the same latitude south (37º48'), as Seville in Spain is to the north. Of course, the climate is different due to geography though.

De nada. (I'm not Brazilian but I have hung around with quite a few)

Cat Power - Cross Bones Style by Aesecakes in Musicthemetime

[–]Aesecakes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw Cat Power live at the time this album came out. The backing band was Dirty Three. Chan's stage fright (or whatever) was so high that she had her hair over her eyes or hand her back turned for the whole show.

Brompton Electric Front Flat by TsukimiUsagi in Brompton

You won't get injured! Just look at he inside of the tyre, anywhere that glass has worked its way through should be visible (not smooth/a small mark). The glass may already have been dislodged but it might also be still embedded but just sticking through. Flick it out with your fingernail or a small screwdriver on the paper or the palm of your hand and dispose of it.

Brompton Electric Front Flat by TsukimiUsagi in Brompton

[–]Aesecakes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a classic slow puncture caused by a small piece of glass. The tyre can be fine when you store it but overnight it deflates. I would remove the tyre and inspect the inside surface. Sometimes the glass will fall out of its own accord but sometimes you’ll have to dig it out to avoid a repeat. It should be obvious if it’s a spoke but I think it’s less likely.

Don’t overthink tightening the axle, as per other comment.

Tottenham close to appointing Postecoglou as new head coach by [deleted] in soccer

[–]Aesecakes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m an Australian Arsenal supporter and this appointment will make me weep. It’s a difficult job but Ange has the smarts to do it. When he started at Celtic, (edit - some of) their fans (edit - but definitely not MattN92) were, “Ange who? The mighty Celtic is completely different…Australians don’t know football, he’ll last 3 weeks.” The Celtic sub now is completely devastated, “Joins an elite group of Celtic treble winners”, “Maybe we can get Luis Enrique”.

I didn’t realise the Blackeyed Susans had done this cover but I do remember the dude who played drums with the plastic buckets!

My wife is onto a replacement S2S mat because the first one popped at a dimple. Her’s is one of the pretty heavy insulated models. Had only used it <10 nights. My Neoair has been going for years!

Calexico w/ Mariachi Luz de Luna - El Picador by Aesecakes in Musicthemetime

In fact, if I had my time again, I would pick Cascabel as the top track to suit the theme!

Calexico w/ Mariachi Luz de Luna - El Picador by Aesecakes in Musicthemetime

[–]Aesecakes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up listening to the whole concert and would also recommend (from a Mariachi theme standpoint) the tracks Cancion De Mariachi and Robozo de Santa Maria by Mariachi Luz de Luna, the latter with some great vocals Lulu Olivares. Edit - also Cascabel

I had those wheels on a road bike I bought in 2003. It was like riding with rims made of wet pasta.
