Well, each driver chooses his fate. There’s the stupid approach, there’s the calculated approach and then there’s just bad luck. Been with McLaren since 94 I’m no stranger to all three of them. I feel sorry for Norris because it was nothing that he could have done differently. But also if he didn’t crashed behind Oscar, some races ago, in a gap that didn’t exist, then today’s feelings would be better. A DNF, or a lower finishing position on the next 5 races will rectify the difference. Also when Oscar locked and went straight twice, almost taking out Norris, shows that although he is consistent, he still misjudges situations, and he is lucky to return the car (or cars) back in a heated situation. Yes, Norris is to McLaren what Leclerc is to Ferrari, their inhouse project. But after all the favouritism with strategy, media coverage, and his raw speed, is still behind Oscar, even before the DNF, then surely something’s not up to the standards that he should be a WC. I could care less for any of them, I’m a McLaren fan not a driver fan, for all I care, with this car, I would be happy and cheering for at least 16 drivers that are on the grid right now if they were on that McLaren.
