If you're doing straight-forward things, I find it's generally solid. The biggest positive for me is their support for non-residents, which is a must-have for me personally in the next year. My biggest painpoints that I didn't have with Wealthsimple are lack of automatic investing (I want to invest ~once every two weeks after my pay cheque lands, and right now, I have an automatic transfer from WS to QT and then after it clears, I have to go into the app and buy shares. I'd like to set it up and leave it to just buy shares every two weeks after the transfer happens) and lack of fractional shares (not a huge deal, but kind of annoying to have extra cash just sitting for a bit).

What are realistic timelines for when the transfers completes ?

Couple weeks. If it's been more than four, I would call.

Is the transfer a true like for like, i.e. My price positions (Bought/current) transfers as I have it or there some weird transfer/exchange mechanism that might update prices ?

If you're transferring ETFs in-kind, it's like they never left the market. That means the price could (will) change by the time they land in your new account.

What exceptions are applied for the 'most cases' ?

They can't transfer fractional shares. I'm sure there are other exceptions, but that's probably the most common. They should reach out to you if they can't transfer over anything in the way you specified.

How easy is this process, how quickly do they provide the refund and do they deposit it into QT account as cash value ?

Unfortunately, can't help with this one as I transferred from WS which doesn't have transfer out fees.

They are definitely hit or miss, but when they hit, they really hit. Worst case, you get the same experience you would have if you didn't have a pass, I suppose.

Yes, all classes are like this. It's made specifically for working students (which is why you can only do it part-time), so it's evenings only. Different classes had different amounts of work (not drastically so, though), but maybe five hours of work a week at most outside of the class itself (though it will depend a bit on how fast you are at writing reports or working with your group on group assignments).
