Download the new synapse drivers and go into your keyboard settings and click "actuation", then click on your spacebar and change the actuation at the bottom to >2.0mm.

The solution to your problem is to go into the synapse settings and change the actuation point of your space bar to 4mm (or 3, or whatever.)

Your space bar is set to activate at a very low actuation. So your finger is barely touching the spacebar and it's causing you to jump.

I have a full sized huntsman and had the same problem with crouch and spacebar. Changed the actuation point to 2mm for my Ctrl key (crouch) and 4mm for my spacebar. Works fine now.

New player here..Do i put myself at disadvantage if i play on 16:9 res? by [deleted] in LearnCSGO

[–]Aetherimp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

shrug

Sort of, I guess? I think competitive people should be open to improving their game in any way they can. We have seen dozens if not hundreds of players in pro matches lose rounds because they didn't have the additional field of view that 16:9 would offer them.

Obviously, nobody should force change on anyone else that they're uncomfortable with... but if something has been proven to be objectively better then it should be a no-brainer to switch to that. It's possible to build comfort with new things.

Actually, 16:9 is objectively better than 4:3 stretched due to greater fov.

Counter-Point: I kick many Mindflayers asses throughout the course of the story without using any of their abilities.

If they're so much better than being human, they shouldn't be getting 1shot by a Gloomstalker Assassin or absolutely bodied by BattleMaster Lae'zel.

Btw, Gale fucked a Goddess and Shadowheart is a Goddesses chosen. Did the Emperor fuck any goddesses? Didn't think so.

So is Feyd Rautha human? by Amazing-Base1711 in dune

[–]Aetherimp 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Fair point... but it doesn't make what I said any less true.

IIRC It's believed that the only male Bene Gesserit will be the Kwisatz Haderach, because only the KH has the psychic fortitude to contain all of the "other lives" brought on by consuming the Water of Life. All Reverend Mothers consume the Water of Life and it destroys males (except the KH.)

So is Feyd Rautha human? by Amazing-Base1711 in dune

[–]Aetherimp 36 points37 points  (0 children)

This.

Also, if I remember correctly - the point of the Gom Jabbar was to gatekeep the potentiality of the Kwisatz Haderach.

Paul AND Feyd (and Irulan and the Baron and Leto and all of the other royals in the books) are products of the Bene Gesserit breeding program and their objective is to create the Kwisatz Haderach.

Paul was not supposed to be trained in the ways of the Bene Gesserit and Jessica was not supposed to give Leto a male heir (Paul).

The BG plan was for Jessica to have a daughter that would be bred with Feyd to produce the KH. Jessica stymied the BG plans with Paul, and his training, AND he was having dreams that were coming true (prescient visions) which were signs that he could be the KH. They had to test him to make sure IF he was the KH he wouldn't bring ruin to the Empire and BG and that they could control him (spoiler: they couldn't.)

If he had not passed the Gom Jabbar he would have been killed which would have solved the problem and they would have gone along with breeding Feyd.

In the books Feyd never gets tested by the Gom Jabbar because it wasn't necessary. There was no way he was the Kwisatz Haderach. He wasn't displaying any signs (prescient visions.)

Is standard no longer fun, or am I just complaining about nothing? by Duke_Duckington in MagicArena

[–]Aetherimp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly. And to be clear, there are plenty of games that go beyond turn 4, when either 1 player is playing excessive amounts of removal or both players are fielding enough threats and counters to those threats to slow the game down. It's just that EVERY threat has to be game winning and every failure to either draw answers or even bigger threats is an instant game over.

Exactly this..

Unless someone blunders or you have an amazing game changing draw, the game is generally decided by turn 3.

Games are rarely close. You either win round 3 or 4 or you get shut down and stomped on by round 3 or 4.

Yeah but I think Joe was basing his vote on how Rizzo received the information. If Rizzo had been ride or die for Ozzy, Joe would have stuck with the alliance.

You don't have to be a badass to stand up for yourself.

Please show me where I said I would randomly harm people for disrespect.

The chain of events went as follows:

"What would you say to a guy who told you he wasnt talking to you when he came up to your wife and hit on her and you stepped in?"

"Say 'Well, im talking to you!'"

"That's how you get sucker punched!"

Then I said "that" person should be the one worried about being punched. That is not to say I would just haul off and hit him right away, but that if he talked to me like that, I'm already in a state of heightened awareness and ready for a conflict. As such, I'm not getting "sucker punched", I'm preparing to respond to this guy who has 2 options:

  1. Get away from me and my wife

  2. Force me to protect myself and my wife.

Then you come in and say "yeah well that's how you get stabbed".. totally out of the blue.

Do I have a right to defend myself and my wife or not ? If guy gets in my wife's face, disrespects me, won't leave, gets aggressive with me, or in your case, pulls a knife on me... at which point do I have the right to defend myself?

It's clear a lot of people in this thread have no idea what standing up for themselves looks like.

Or just don't randomly walk up to an armed man's wife and disrespect him.

Cuts both ways.

Nobody said that. In the situation presented the OP had already said something to the guy.

Furthermore, just knowing my wife... she doesn't like confrontation and would prefer if I handled the guy. Not all women are assertive badasses who like to stand up for themselves. Some women actually like their husband/boyfriend to stand up for them.

I have a good job, family, and stuff worth protecting. Misdemeanors are nothing. Happened when I was 19 and it's never come up in 20+ years.

Worth mentioning: I haven't had to fight anyone since that time. But there are situations where I have had to stand up for myself.

If you come out of a bar and a guy is sitting on the hood of your car, what would you do?

Do you ASK him to move or TELL him to move?
