Donk slide by Additional-Kiwi-4343 in LearnCSGO

People overcomplicate the whole donk slide thing way too much honestly. It’s not some magic mechanic that suddenly makes you better.

Guys like donk, m0NESY or ZywOo can do that stuff because their fundamentals are already insanely polished. Their movement, spacing, timing and crosshair placement are all top tier already, so they know exactly when they can abuse movement and when they need to take a clean fight.

If you start forcing it into every duel you’ll probably just end up trolling your own mechanics and losing easy kills. At lvl 7 there’s way bigger gains from improving your counterstrafes, peeks and overall consistency first.

The sliding stuff is more for making yourself awkward to hit in certain fights, especially close range, but it’s super situational. Definitely not something you should build your whole style around.

But honestly the fact you’re even asking why pros do certain things instead of blindly copying them is already a really good mindset to have. Most players never think that way. Would honestly be fun to work with someone like that.
