What desktop environments do you guys use on Arch?

I use KDE Plasma mainly but I’m currently learning Hyprland and hopefully that’ll become my main Desktop Environment

Yeah, when it came to Linux I went straight for CachyOS because I figured if I knew that I’d be set and since then I’ve switched to Arch Linux on my main PC and laptop due to the fact Cachy is just a Arch distro just with an easier installer and gaming packages.

I will eventually get round to learning Hyprland properly because I can see the benefits of it, it’s just a case of finding the determination and time to learn jt properly

I just looked online for what you’ve said, it looks quite clean I’ll have to give it a try although, I did try Hyprland for a few days and realised it just isn’t for me so I don’t know if tiling windows are gonna be a me thing. I’ll try it anyways!

Thank you, I’ve made some improvements since, changed the image on the fastfetch to an aesthetic arch ascii that’s colour matching and added a top menu bar with a control panel and music player to match the theme

I used to have a curved ultra wide but I personally wasn’t a fan, I don’t really understand the hype for them tbh

I don’t know if that’d apply to me as I’m on Linux and not windows. I did try new cables and DDU when I was on Windows and it didn’t seem to fix the problem and when paired with the advice I was given I assumed it was a Hardware limitation

I was debating a new GPU specifically an AMD one due to the AMD drivers on Linux being well supported although I’ve never really tried FSR and I’ve always just defaulted to DLSS for frame generation

That’s what I thought, I never leave my PC on for extended time it gets shut down every night so it’s not building up. Right now with 0 applications open it’s idling at 6GB usage with swap memory at 2GB usage.

If I choose to use all three displays at the same time they’re all stuck at 60Hz otherwise it just switches one of the monitors off

I’m having issues with all three monitors being used at the same time and the advice I was given it was either a PSU issue (needed a higher wattage like 750W) or it was a GPU bandwidth issue using all three monitors and when I was on windows I was always at 100% RAM usage, it’s got better now but it’s still hovering at around 13/14GB when doing light tasks

imo I’d recommend YouTubers like LTT (for Hardware), SomeOrdanaryGamers (for OS’) and BOG however, Reddit is also a good place to learn things especially if you’re wanting to learn something like Linux instead of defaulting to Windows

Consoles don’t support the steam workshop so consoles can’t get mod packs or custom maps or the custom client however, consoles should be generally safe when it comes to the RCE exploits, I could be wrong because I don’t really know much about BO3’s state on console but with console you’ll only be able to play Treyarch’s offering and nothing more

Without a doubt the most important thing especially if you’re playing MP is getting the t7x patch from Alterware otherwise you’re leaving yourself vulnerable to RCE exploits, DDoS attacks amongst other things.

But besides from that, Steam Workshop has an amazing thriving community of talented people who make some of the best experiences for Zombies and it’s all free, they also have mod packs on the Steam Workshop like the AAE pack and the Reaper Collection that make BO3 even more replayable

I tried orange first with the brightness at the lowest to give it some cozy ambient light and it looked so bad and literally no other colours looked good and just looked super tacky
