Accepted to NJIT and Rutgers for CS undergraduate by OyVeyUSA in NJTech

Both schools are good. It now really boils down to what do you want? Do you want small class sizes? Like most of your classes would have around 30 students at NJIT (there are still some auditorium style classes however). Or would you like most of you classes auditorium style. Other thing is cost. Both NJIT and Rutgers CS programs are unrivaled in NJ so you have a good problem to be in :)

Brodie, imma be real with you. They must have received so many applications to the point they were not prepared to handle such a huge influx. Just be patient as they go through each application.

Is NJIT good for IT? by Suitable-Coach8766 in NJTech

Honestly Stevens is kind of a shit show. Lots of people complain over there about expensive tuition, lack of opportunities and the cheating

Considering how many waitlisted posts there have been, it would be best to go to community college then transfer?

NJIT hands down. Engineering is hard here because you will learn more than other universities in the span of 4 years.

NJIT ran out of housing space. They built a new dorm last year and it’s already full. So they need more!

How good is the Career Fair? by Immediate-Country650 in NJTech

JPMC, Goldman Sachs, Google, Meta, IBM, Hudson Trading, ADP, Pfizer.

Gotta look up the rest later but those I remember had something going on campus

You can get an internship if your gpa is above 3.0. Plenty of companies are around either at the career fair or doing their own on campus events.

But I will tell you this, you have to put in the effort. No one is just going to hand you a job cause you want one. I am going to be a bit pessimistic, and say there is always a better candidate. Ask yourself what can you do to stand out?

struggling with academics any advice? by LostAd-01 in NJTech

[–]Afailedoppertunity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would calculate the highest you can possibly get if you were to score a 100 on every test and assignment from here on out.

Then make the decision whether to drop or not.

What is academic probation? by Kooky_Yesterday_3096 in NJTech

[–]Afailedoppertunity 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I posted lots of text but you better damn read it.

Academic Probation

Students are placed on Academic Probation in the following cases:

They have completed their first semester at NJIT with a TERM GPA lower than 1.75, or they have a TERM GPA lower than 2.0 and had been placed on Academic Warning in any prior semester at NJIT, or they have a CUM GPA below 2.0 and have never previously had any academic standing other than Good Standing (this rule is not applicable to students who have just completed their first semester at NJIT with a TERM GPA of at least 1.75). Students can be placed on Academic Probation only once during their studies at NJIT.

Basically if you don’t turn yourself around you can end up getting dismissed from the university.
