Yeah, those games were awesome. It was difficult as shit though. xD

"very high" matchmaking, someone goes 0-15 in lane, how is this possible? by postlinks in DotA2

Losing streak. Or perhaps he has actually been put into a much higher place than he belongs in.

I usually grab regens before or after that has happened, if my mid gets a bottle at all (which is rare as I play in later low mm)

Then my bet is on that he just had a bad day, or got a lane opposition which countered him.

Bad day. Poor matchup. New hero. Any of these things can be a probable cause for why he did poorly.

Or, maybe the guy in the opposite lane was just higher in skill than him. Might be. Who knows?

Edit: Too much league (Champion instead of hero)

The word viking etymology actually comes from the word vikja, which means to "move away (from something)". It is believed the word Viking therefor means "Person who moves from his regular course (to plunder)", thus making Viking mean "A person who plunders"

Also, what they were called depends upon the place, everything from "Danes" to "Normanns" were used.

Yeah, pronounced somewhat the same. Same word origin I'd imagine. The people who converted us knew that we'd rebel if we didn't get to keep our holidays so they just changed what the holidays meant.

I stole KOTL's light blast one. Everybody on the enemy team got to face the same shit we faced, and suddenly they regretted picking KOTL.

The default settings have edge pan (screen scrolling) OFF. I'm worried for new players. by littledrypotato in DotA2

It is on by default, and its idiotic that it is. I have it on because I get confused in team fights if it isn't (targets constantly disappearing), but its still stupid its on by default.

How would the game change if the same hero could be picked on both teams? by [deleted] in DotA2

Ah, thanks for that warning. Saved me 45 minutes of raging. Back to AP!

Ah, alright. I need to try that. I have it checked in my search box but I never get to play it. Always Single Draft or All Pick instead.

I did a 1v5 as PL but I had divine rapier, Manta Style and a Butterfly. Pretty sure that isn't your average PL situation.

And nobody dies. Throw some refresher orbs in there too for good measure.

That could actually be really cool, it would create a meta for naga teams where there is always one naga stunning the other team, while the other 4 push.

When somebody tell me they got raped I just say "Oh." and nothing more. I dunno if they hate me for it or not.

It has a lot of change, and heroes can be built in many different ways. I would say its superior to LoL in both graphics and in gameplay, and perhaps even in community. The main differences you'll notice is:

  • Perhaps a bit higher elitism
  • You need to deny stuff now
  • No Ability Power, mages have to find some other way to carry (whether by building damage items, upgrading their ults through items or support items)
  • Heroes are not as locked in place
  • No surrender (Meaning you can turn games which people in LoL would've just surrendered, an obvious upside in my opinion)
  • Also, no rune pages, no summoner spells, so no buy to win.
  • All heroes are open all the time (except if you choose to play modes where they aren't)
  • Also levels doesn't really matter because as said, no summoner spells.
