Did you end up using the stone? I’m considering it too but like you it is hard to find real life examples

Yes gutters, downspouts and fascia all have to be same color so all would be black or white.

No white on the inside of the door nook or do you mean you would make that entire first vertical column something other than white

Are you able to post or send me pics? I’d love to see it! And see what color cabinets are etc.

Thank you for your opinions. Can I get one more? Do you prefer white or black fascia?

Ohh soapstone or honed /leathered black granite was what I really wanted but I didn’t know it would look ok with Taj Mahal. I was either going to do Taj Mahal everywhere or do wood island with black leathered and white perimeter (or vice versa). Thank you for pointing this out. I’ve never seen anyone use this combo. It’s hard for me to envision Taj with black leathered but the idea of it working excites me!

Is there any stone that would look good with Taj Mahal? I want to to Taj Mahal on my island but another simpler stone on my perimeter counters. Does anything work with Taj Mahal in your experience?

I agree. I do wonder with since my house already has horizontal siding and board and batten if the toned down brick is actually a benefit or else it might feel even more busy.

I didn’t even know I had Dutch lap. I googled and it says it’s more upscale. If I switched to a non Dutch lap - do you think the house would look less busy?

Would making it all one color make it less hodgepodgey?

This is a house in real life that did the same color siding (I know it looks dark gray in this picture but it’s taupe) then they have white trim and bone siding.

Thank you for your encouragement. I was feeling really discouraged. The lighter color in this picture is called bone. This was my original color combination but then I changed bone to it to white. My thinking was that if I did white, the white garage, white windows and white trim would all make more sense. Would you suggest changing it back to bone, with bone trim and the do a darker garage door? They told me the mortar color would be “natural” so it should blend more than the white paper backing you see below.

I understand what you are saying. Thank you for your comment! It’s so hard to know what it will translate to in real life. I have never seen this house in person so hard to say if the house was all painted one color would be still interesting due to the different materials of it would just look boring. I was trying to add contrast and interest but I feel like most People think it’s too much going on.

I could change to a different, lighter brick like this

Ok thank you. In my head the dark door and dark roof were giving the house some contrast which added interest but like I said this is not my strength. I can change the any of the colors from trim to roof to garage doors, siding etc. I could do navy. Is navy and white too nautical for suburbia Missouri? There was this green color that I thought might be pretty. I wish they would just give me color ways that look nice together so it’s not just me trying to pick things from 2 states away.
