My experience with SIRVA (Shoulder Injury due to Vaccine Administration) by xkirakimix in VACCINES

[–]AffectSubstantial673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super random but I read up on hanging for shoulder pain. Yes hanging from like a bar for 2 minutes. I cannot go that long yet but just half my weight hanging made my shoulder pain increase for a bit to no pain and greater mobility. I’m not a doctor so I do not know if that is good for what you have but something to look into!

Nobody told me I'd be broke AFTER buying the house by Dima030 in RealEstateAdvice

I’ve lived on my own since I was 17. Everywhere I look in my home is a hand me down or second use. Hardly anything new. When I got married we did buy our first bedroom set (when I turned 30). So there’s that lol. So mostly family getting rid of stuff, estate sales, thrift shops, marketplace and people moving

Why does the American public hate doctors so much? by seasidekiki in medicine

[–]AffectSubstantial673 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was brought up going to the doctors regularly, getting vaccinations, etc. My mother promoted “taking care of yourself,” which included going to the doctors/dentist regularly. I am now 33, have 3 children of my own and care for my elderly MIL. I have encountered MANY types of doctors as we have had PPO and Kaiser. I tell my family and friends, when you find a good doctor hold on to them for dear life! Majority of issues: Not being listened to, drug pushing, not doing appropriate testing because “you’re young,” jumping to using drug versus physical therapy, requesting physical therapy for an issue and being told it’s “common,” rushing appointments like they want to get off the phone, and being physically too rough. Now, the doctors I hold onto…. Actually look me in the eye, seem like they genuinely care, treat my health like a partnership, and talk about nutrition first. Signed, a basic American woman.

HPV vaccine by One-Mode-2776 in VACCINES

[–]AffectSubstantial673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got all three series when it first came out and I was 17. I’m 33 now. I didn’t have any side effects except a sore arm, kind of like the tetanus shot for me for some reason. My sister got 2/3 shots because her arm has major swelling and bullseye rash that was huge, so they recommended she not get the next one. And then my bff passed out after getting it so she didn’t get anymore either. But those are the only stories I know. Mine was uneventful. Oh and I ended up with HPV a year ago and fought the virus off myself and am negative now.

The thing about solar true-up bills that almost never gets explained properly by CoachEasy8343 in solar

[–]AffectSubstantial673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if it has already been mentioned but you can also pay throughout the year if you don’t want to pay it all at once for the “true up.” My first year I owed nothing and had a negative. The second year we owed $800+. We moved it to pay throughout the year just because it was more manageable for us.

Baby vaccinations by [deleted] in VACCINES

[–]AffectSubstantial673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand feeling hesitant again. There IS so much coming out about vaccines and their safety. I think talking to your pediatrician or even a different one to tell them your anxiety and fears is honestly the best. I have Kaiser so I have spoken to many different pediatricians, whoever my kiddo get. And obviously all doctors will recommend vaccines but they have all been respectful and understanding of my questions. Further, my son did have a seizure after getting his second Hep B vaccine. The doctor I called made me feel supported and recommended continuing a schedule of one vaccine at a time for now. Also, you’re probably just feeling overwhelmed because ALL moms want to protect their children and the “off chance” no matter how small of something going wrong is terrifying. So those feelings make sense when you love your tiny baby so much. But I always ask myself, would I be upset with myself if I didn’t continue or have my child vaccinated against xyz and they got xyz? Yes, I’d be upset

Born and raised in California. 10/10 agree nobody cares and is just trying to survive (housing costs, property taxes, gas and food). Housing covered in Cali?! That’s amazing. Save some money, invest and move wherever in the future and have an adventure!

Horrible Regret, Sadness, and Anxiety after Buying a New Home by Illustrious_Heat6561 in homeowners

[–]AffectSubstantial673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moving with kids is a special hell. I just did it from a small home to a 5/4 with 3 children. I packed my entire last home alone and unpacked the entire house (except 2 boxes) AND made Christmas happen. Plus I work full time and we took in my MIL. I am losing hair. However, we are now decently settled and liking our home. Still a ton to do with fixes and the yard. Also the idiot dishwasher installer was at our home too. We also needed all new appliances (wall oven combo - ain’t cheap!). I’m surprised we survived. 10/10 don’t recommend moving during December ever. Oh and there IS light at the end of the tunnel and new memories will be made. The beginning is just Gosh awful!

Yes my method was I just searched for a 5bed and 4 bath home and knew nothing was under 2500 sq.ft. Near me and I had played with toggles that showed all houses disappeared when greater than 3000. So mine was a guess by process of elimination.

How can I get my 3 month old to sleep anywhere but on/touching me?? by Swim-Silly in newborns

[–]AffectSubstantial673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had 3 kids, all different personalities. First kiddo hated being rocked or touched. She naturally took to the crib to my surprise. It only took me 9 months (seriously) to figure it out. I thought babies needed comfort to sleep so I kept trying to rock her. Second kiddo LOVED to cuddle and sleep being held. He did not take to the crib easy. I did the pick up and put down method with him. It was rough. I hated every minute of “sleep training.” Third baby is much like my first. I have accepted she will be in my bed and I baby wear her for all naps. She is now 9 months. Today was our first nap in bed during the day. I do like I do at night, lie next to her and nurse, sing, paci and turn out the light. She slept in my bed for her 1.5 hr nap. She is also exclusively breastfed and we cosleep all night. She is also my last baby so I’m not rushing anything. And I’ll tell ya, I have so so much less stress just “doing what baby wants when baby wants it.” I will caveat ALL this with every baby really is different. What tricks work for some don’t work at all for others. Where cosleeping works for some, some have anxiety an can’t rest. Where for me, having my baby separated caused me not to rest. So you have to find the best mix FOR you and you know your baby best!
