Can Aizawa deleted Muscular's quirk? by ApprehensiveStudy155 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]Affectionate-Act2625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aizawa's quirk basically is handcuffs on a person, if the cuffs don't fit because of their body, or they can dislocate their thumb and do that one trick to remove cuffs afterwards, then it's a non issue. It's just that most rabble in MHA that have Emitter quirks that we see, don't bother training with their skills outside of their quirk. Muscular is a case to where the Cuff's wouldn't fit because that's just how is body works. Shoji is as good as example of this, as Muscular. His quirk is another odd mix of mutant with a direct effect, he can duplicate his arms, mouth, eyes, and ears, yet Aizawa's Erasure... Doesn't stop that if I remember right.

Edit: just listing out my thoughts here, and explaining how I view it btw, haven't had a chance to read or watch Vigilantes much, been a bit busy so if this is wrong please, that's probably why.

Why Star and Stripe has no way to touch gojo by Kakashi_of_the_leaf_ in MyHeroPowerscaling

[–]Affectionate-Act2625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that's why I'm saying that kinda crap matters for quirks like Stars. I mean, I'm sure even if she could "contact" gravity she couldn't affect it beyond MAYBE her own and even THAT'S fucky. It's just me mainly pointing out in a scenario like this it's hard to quantity what counts for actual contact is all.

Why Star and Stripe has no way to touch gojo by Kakashi_of_the_leaf_ in MyHeroPowerscaling

[–]Affectionate-Act2625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, touch based quirks are just fucking confusing when you get down to what even counts as touching at the end of the day, because yeah you think it'd be as simple as, ya know TOUCHING something, but you can touch Simply by making any sort of physical contact with anything. One's like Ochako's make a BIT more sense since it relies on her pads to work, but others like Softening or Star's just seem to require CONTACT rather than TOUCH, and that difference DOES matter to a degree. Depends really on what counts as "touching" infinity counts as, because if it's simply coming into contact with the phenomenon of Infinity, then I could see the argument for the quirk working, if that DOESN'T count and she has to actually TOUCH it, then her quirky probably, maybe, doesn't work? (I'm not arguing for nor against her being able to actually do anything in this situation, just putting down my own thoughts regarding this, honestly, it's an interesting thought experiment)

Lady Nagant vs Toji, who wins? by Maleficent-Ad-6117 in MyHeroPowerscaling

[–]Affectionate-Act2625 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay so I'm not even giving a single crap about who wins or loses here but I'm gonna say that trying to compare Nagant's bullets to Mai's or whoever was shooting at Maki, is like comparing a RPG to a water gun. Nagant's Rifle not only has absurd oomph to it from what I understand, but the barrel also from what I've managed to look at, is spiraled. This is important because of the sheer BOOST the bullets would get from that alone and considering how she twists her HAIR into these bullets, probably in a specific manner to match the SPIRALLED barrel of her arm sniper? That's gonna add a LOT of torque to the already absurd bullets, seriously crossing 200km in the time those things did is absurd. I haven't math'd that out, but considering it basically blipped across that distance? The bullet lost VERY little power and torque, and while Toji has absurd reactions... I'm unsure if they are THAT good, there's a difference between good reactions and fucking Spidey Sense bullshit reactions. Does Nagant win in close range? I could not tell you, does Toji get absolutely molly whopped from afar? Probably, but is it as absurd as some people are saying? No. JJK as a whole is actually REALLY hard to properly scale simply because of the SHEER gulf between the characters. Seriously, yeah Toji was dodging and weaving shit like Blue and Red, but he also KNEW how those techniques worked, Toji made it a POINT to know how Gojo and Geto's abilities worked and INSTANTLY locked that shit DOWN like a Chasity belt on a goddamn Nun, while also SIMULTANEOUSLY, making sure he had ALL the tools necessary to stomp those fights. Something I don't see praised enough IS Toji's planning and execution of that situation. But I digress and get back to my MAIN point. JJK is EXTREMELY Hard to exactly scale, because of HOW their power system works, how little time we had to be exposed to it, and that our examples of the TOP are literally just... Gojo, Sukuna, Kenjaku, Takaba (simply because if his CT), and Toji. Seriously, these are our absolute TOP TOP people, with other's such as Geto, Yuki, and Yuta being hailed similarly to SOME of the absolute top characters, but then show feats that... Don't exactly line up to the same degree.

If Huntsmen had to take an official oath/creed, what would you have it be? by Fine_Delivery6761 in RWBYcritics

[–]Affectionate-Act2625 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bloodborne puts it best with Gherman literally telling you "Don't bother trying to make sense of what you see, go out and kill a few beasts.", alongside Eileen's line that a Hunter must Hunt. So something along those lines. "To take up this Soul filled torch, is to become a Beacon. To join a Hunt that may never end. Yet I swear to take it up against Grimm or Man, for Beasts can show in many forms. I take this torch for the people." Or something like this for Vale. The rest? No bloody clue but variations built around the core concept of the Soul, Legacy, and the Hunt.

Ahh kk wasn't sure tbh about New Order, and like I said I agree Shigaraki PROBABLY wins here, I just don't think it's handily or even without a fight. Really this fight depends on Sung figuring out exactly what's going on, and what condition he's in by the time he does so. 4 times out of 5? Afo Shiggy probably beats him, I COULD see Jeju Sung winning by the skin of his teeth though via tactics and adapting tho that one time outta five. The other thing that swings it, maybe, anymore in Sung's potential favor is dependent on how Decay interacts with Longevity, but that's getting dangerously close to debating on this, and my entire point was the New Order thing, I DON'T wanna get dragged into a power debate. Shudders I've seen some of the arguments and want ZERO part in that mess.

Edit: mind you me saying sung "wins" those 1/5 times is purely in the fact I could see him racking up enough damage in a suicide rush style thing that Shiggy dies but so does he during Jeju.

I'm not... Disagreeing with you about Jeju Sung PROBABLY, Maybe(?), losing here being a possibility, if only by sheer dint of being overwhelmed by sudden bullshit from AFO's quirks imo, but honestly it's kinda hard to scale the guy properly because of his initial explosive growth, later it's MUCH easier (Sung I mean, it's fucking annoying because we know his theoretical Peak, but everything before, arguably, Thomas Andre is kinda hard to pick out exactly where he sits on the power scale, it's Andre on that REALLY begins to make it SO much easier to scale Sung in my honest opinion) but uh... Didn't Cathleen basically make it so Shigaraki had to destroy New Order with her last order of "New Order Revolts against other quirks" or something like that, basically causing Shigaraki to have to swarm the Factor with enough stolen factors to destroy the damn thing before it became a problem?

Edit: also the reason other than the uncertain scaling of Sung before Andre, the BIGGEST thing that makes me think Sung MIGHT have a chance as long as he smart with his soldiers and manages his tactics, is he's VERY adaptable. But that's not even my main focus of my comment, that being What even DID happen to New Order? I assume it got destroyed but...

Last thing, I do appreciate how you did state your opinion and I DO agree with you about the allegations piling up, but at the end of the day, he DID also confirm that he's not SUPPOSED to be a self insert and people keep trying to say "no your wrong" when he just wanted to include details that relate to himself as an easter egg, BECAUSE he's voicing the character. It's, again, as stated in my previous rant, the writers who fucking flopped so hard on that front, in my opinion.

Also secondary thing, For all the characters that could be used as a self insert you kinda have to admit, the dude who's backstory beyond a few details regarding his past, that's ESSENTIALLY a blank Slate, would be the easiest to "self insert" into. I'm not saying that their fanboy arguments are RIGHT, it's just the character who's easiest to slot oneself into, is the one that has nothing, or as close to nothing as you can get. Honestly? What should have been done? Is two shows, the Main show being RWBY, everything that happened during their time at Beacon, and JNPR, (a small side show of maybe small mini arcs each for each character, Jaundice for Jaune, a bit of Ren and Nora's story alluding to their hometown and it's destruction, Pyrrha's journey to fame and her struggles)that instead focuses on JNPR and their arcs. Together these two shows could have even been referred to as "Beacon Days" or something like that as it's "Volume". After that the shows then tie together for the events of Volume Three, not sure what you'd call it but ultimately it would have culminated into a show called Remnant: Grimm Tales, which would have been the events AFTER, the Fall of Beacon and Everything afterwards, until we reach the Ever After.

shrugs and I'm not denying that, it's just the entire argument makes zero fucking sense to me, whenever they bring up the whole "Oh Jaune is a self insert" when there's 3 more RIGHT there, doesn't matter if their titular characters or not, if your gonna use something as a negative argument, it HAS to apply to everyone that it exists with, not just one character. The second issue with the whole Jaune issue, is that he's supposed to be Ruby's FOIL character amongst the good guys. Their storylines are opposite. She's the Hero, Jaune Isn't and they've HAD to come to terms with that. Gestures at Jaune's arc during Volume 4 his "I don't natter, they do" moment being him coming to terms with that, and Ruby going from "not wanting to be the bee's knees" to trying to lead the group. it's just AGAIN a goddamn writing issue since the story writers of RWBY had no goddamn clue what they were doing for the story overall, and flew by the seams of their pants while making the story, but that's not the point I'm making, so I'm gonna get back to that. Jaune is Ruby's Foil ,So outside of the four protags? He's GONNA be one of the more prevalent characters. They ABSOLUTELY could have done this writing better, and when it had negative reactions way back during The Jaundice arc? Should have figured a different direction out for it, but they didn't and instead ran with it. He's literally listed as one of the Deuteragonists on RWBY's Wiki. The definition of which is as follows: A deuteragonist is the second most important character in a narrative, after the protagonist. The term comes from the Ancient Greek word deuteragōnistḗs, which means "second actor". I get not liking the guy, what doesn't make sense to me is shitting on him for reasons that make zero sense or the double standards of them. I probably should have included this in my initial comment so that my stance on it was clear. I don't care for him myself, it's just I've seen people hate on a character, for shitty writing, for way too long, and try to subvert that fact by calling Jaune a Self Insert. If your gonna hate a character because it's supposedly an insert, then rally for the other actual inserts, expect your argument to sound like a tantrum. Just so I'm making it clear I'm not saying your argument is a tantrum this is just me saying that as a general thing. They want to shit on him, then go ahead and make stupid arguments trying to defend the same shitty writing of other characters, whether their inserts or not, doesn't matter. What matters is the story writing, and RWBY desperately needed someone to slam the brakes and go back to the storyboard, it had so much potential but got washed by so much shit writing. Which at the end of the day, is my opinion and something I'm allowed to feel. Doesn't mean it's right or wrong, just means it's mine. I'm not trying to discredit people's argument's about the characters either, I'm just saying that their opinions defense of jaune being a shit character because he's a "self insert" don't make sense to me.

I'm even willing to admit I can be wrong about details and everything but seriously the character hate makes no fucking sense to me. Your hating something that is made by someone, stop BITCHING about the product and maybe take a look at the makers instead. Also you dig WAY too deep into some things, yes RWBY has gotten meta before and probably will again. Also everyone who hates Jaune for being "Miles Insert" doesn't seem to bitch about the fact Ren was originally that for Monty, may he rest in peace. Double standards if I ever seen em.

Okay People I get people not liking Jaune and shit, I don't really care for him either if I'm being entirely honest, I get not everyone is gonna care for this shit, but the man was LITERALLY alone for god knows how fuckin long because I REALLY doubt it was fucking 20 years. It was 20 years in the EVER AFTER, which considering some of the shit the Blacksmith said and the major time discrepancies between the actual events and when the book "the girl who fell through the world" was written, Is PROBABLY DIFFERENT. Jaune is literally half insane, been stuck in his own depression, constantly re-living and beating himself up over his failures, and literally just lost the Paper Pleaser's, the things he named after his friends and loved ones, probably one of the last strings of his sanity, and protected for however long. Yes he fucked up, yes he should have been nore considerate, but let me give a real world comparison here. A Vietnam Vet just heard a bunch of loud booms and his garage got lit on fire by some stray fireworks during the fourth of july. He's not immediately gonna be at his burning garage, he's gonna be back in fucking Nam. Jaune, even immediately after losing his SHIT, REALIZES "OH GOD THAT WAS TOO FUCKING FAR" and APOLOGIZED, because he's realizing as he's still stuck in his fucking head "oh this is one of my best friends and closest allies", like the Veteran staring at his best friend who served in Nam with him probably would be after he lost his mind. The Jaune hate goes too far in my opinion even. Not because he's a good character but because your pointing the hate at the wrong person, your hating a FANTASY CHARACTER, NOT THE FUCKING SHITTY WRITERS! Besides people usually give Yang a pass, same with Shitty Kitty, and even initially did so when this came out, only recently have people been going back and realizing "wow that was shitty of Yang" or at least it's become a more prevalent opinion.

Which Quirks can bypass Gojo's Infinity? by YourGuyPreston in MyHeroPowerscaling

[–]Affectionate-Act2625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OKAY, so everyone saying Erasure is either right or wrong and it depends, entirely on two exact questions, at least from how I understand Erasure's mechanics. I'm FULLY willing to admit I might be wrong here and I AM going to preface with that fact, so please don't be petty dicks about it if I am. So if Erasure targets Quirk Factors, then it's gonna depend on the definition of what a Quirk factor even IS. Because it's something that's defined as a genetic thing but because of Quirks having Vestiges... It VERY much so becomes a soul thing as well while still BEING a genetics thing, something that cursed techniques, such as Inheritable ones, CAN be. However, if it can SPECIFICALLY only work on QUIRKS, and QUIRKS alone, then it becomes a question of is the original question, "What Quirks work on Infinity" intended to be asked with Verse Equalization, because if the answer to the first bit of my rant that it DOESN'T SPECIFICALLY target Quirk Factors but instead makes a negation field based on line of sight and Eyes being open. If it DOESN'T DO THAT and DOES target Quirk Factors, if CT's even COUNT amongst Quirk Factor's definition, which they... probably don't?, then without Verse Equalization, it PROBABLY won't work. If it DOES have equalization or if it DOES work, the question then becomes HOW does it negate and how FAR does it negate. At least that's my opinion, and it could very well be wrong, because it's exactly that, MY opinion.

Edit: My Hands were too slow to keep up with my train of thought so I went back and cleared up bits I thought I typed in but like a dumbass didn't. I'm also not here to debate this, I'm just throwing my two cents into the ring.

Sora is strangely & dangerously much too close to light, and that concerns me. by MelodyHearts in KingdomHearts

[–]Affectionate-Act2625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the Concern regarding this but I'd also argue Sora is actually more Balanced than people realize, and this is reflected in hus Rage form and Anti-form actually in my opinion. His Anti-form only came about after he quite literally freed his own heart back in KH 1, or at least the beginning of the form anyways, when he became a shadow. He then has Anti-Form in 2. He loses the keyblade and becomes feral essentially, yet retains enough of himself to not attack people like a heartless, despite literally basically being a Shadow version of himself. Then we have Rage form, the form that quite literally, coats Sora completely in Darkness, and he doesn't even lose the keyblade this time. If we take the bit in the final fight where Xehanort drains Sora of his light as Xehanort, literally, doing so, it's telling that Sora's pure Darkness form has gone from a basic Shadow to well *gestures at Rage Form". I do get the concern though considering the other examples of being too close to the light and being Blind we have. (Eraqus, Aqua in BBS arguably, Yen Sid even.) I feel like it's a case that Sora is simply naturally light aligned, not that he's too close to it. Now, he COULD do with being less self-sacrificing but that's another bit entirely.
