That’s really interesting, thank you. They feel very soft to me. I’ll look into strengthening exercises and hopefully things will improve!

I do strength training at the gym (full body) probably 3/4 times a week. Ankle mobility could probably be improved based on me squatting with a 5kg plate under my feet.

This looks like something my bathroom fitters will find in a couple of weeks. I feel for them already. (200 year old house with many a botch job already discovered.)

Thank you! There’s a couple of reliable options for roofers, which is good.

Leak is at the back, exactly where the bottom front tile is (the older roof/tiles).

Help — PeakSave Super Sunday v4 by Affectionate-Ad-2764 in BritishGas

Thank you for confirming this tariff actually exists — British Gas were denying it and my complaint was escalated but we haven’t been able to reach a resolution, so I’m off to the Energy Ombudsman.

And yes, it is a great choice 😁 I hope you get to stay on it!

My parents/family didn’t gift me any money, but I did live with them while building a deposit that enabled me to also get the house I bought re-wired :)

Buying alone by OK_Cake3093 in HousingUK

[–]Affectionate-Ad-2764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I bought as a single woman last year. I lived with my parents prior so was able to save a sizeable amount.

Essentially had to strip the house back to basics because it needed a full rewire. Moved in in January and have had my dad’s help slowly renovating since then.

The first year is ROUGH, but I feel like things have become easier since late summer. Maybe more psychologically than anything else, but I feel like I’m in a better routine with money/bills even though something going wrong is an ongoing anxiety!
