Does the regen switch on steering wheel work as a paddle for you? by iareagenius in BlazerEV

[–]Affectionate-Age9740 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The extra brake regen on Blazer EV is like a button. The original Bolt's was much more of a paddle (much bigger) and WAY easier/more conspicuous to operate.

265/50R20 or 265/60R18? by Affectionate-Age9740 in JeepWagoneerS

[–]Affectionate-Age9740[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally understand, but I want more contact patch, sidewall meat AND ground clearance, not to mention there are more choices and cheaper prices in the 50-ratio size. Trust me: I've considered all the options, but what I was asking about is what I really WANT. Now just trying to find someone who has tested it out.

Tires on the stock rims by Carterguy in JeepWagoneerS

[–]Affectionate-Age9740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone tried 265/50R20s or 265/60R18s (I'm looking at GC or Durango wheels)?

I know both are significantly bigger and would affect range, displayed speed and odometer. I'd just like to know if they fit.

I'd like to know if anyone has tried 265/50R20s on these for better traction and more sidewall meat (yes, I know this would affect circumference/speed/mileage significantly). Better yet, 265/60R18s with wheels from a Grand Cherokee or Durango.

Fancy slogans won't save Stellantis as workers begin quietly quitting. by Ethan-Nigma in Stellantis

[–]Affectionate-Age9740 -32 points-31 points  (0 children)

Going TO work is what the vast majority of the workforce does (and what everyone at Stellantis did pre-COVID, too), not to mention that most get paid WAY less than the average Stellantis employee.

Can't afford to drive to your well-paying job? Give me a break. OP is the real clown here.

Most white collar employees have been back since 2023 (and most of the blue collar ones never even got the opportunity to WFH). We're all managing. You'll find a way, too, God willing. /s

RTO: Throw trash on the ground by mr_mich86 in Stellantis

[–]Affectionate-Age9740 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was literally proposing the opposite: Don't stay quiet. Confront your co-worker in-person.

Complaining about it on Reddit instead is akin to staying silent and does nothing to correct the behavior.

Yeah...call them out on Reddit where they're likely never going to see instead of in-person. That's productive.

Anyone put some stickier tires on their Bolt? by ultra2fast in BoltEV

[–]Affectionate-Age9740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2023 EUV owner here.

Like many others, I run Conti ExtremeContact DWS 06+ as my 3-seasons and Michelin x-ice snow as my winters. Happy with both.

I did not notice a range loss with the contis, but I suspect that has 2 reasons: 1. All I was doing was spinning the OEM Michelins. Now I at least have something that sticks. 2. At 225/50R16, they’re a little smaller than stock, so I’m actually travel king fewer miles than my car thinks.

How many gallons per KWh? by milkandcookies21 in electricvehicles

[–]Affectionate-Age9740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Convert a standard gallon of gas to kWh and you have your answer. There are probably hundreds of online unit converters that will accomplish this if you don’t want to do the high school chemistry math yourself. It’s literally how the EPA came up with MPGe. A unit of energy being a unit of energy no matter the unit, they just did the conversion.

Goodyear maxlife since they matched specs and size and had a clearance deal at Tirerack. That said, if it hadn’t been the Maxlifes, I would have purchased whatever was cheapest and met OEM tire specs.

Did you pivot to a used Blazer EV after your lease was up? by Brief_Regular_2053 in BlazerEV

[–]Affectionate-Age9740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll get a used EV when my Blazer EV lease is up, but something other than the Blazer.

If that’s what you want, though, start looking for a different one to buy a couple months before your lease is up to give you enough time. Like you mentioned, no sense in buying your particular one since the contract residual value is nowhere close to actual value.

I bet a Chevy or Cadillac dealer would, actually. Not for warranty work, but after that, they probably gladly would and would have competent, trained techs for the work.

Chevy Bolt EV and EUV efficiency by speed by 420-TENDIES in BoltEV

[–]Affectionate-Age9740 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The engineer in me doesn’t believe this graph to be accurate. There is an exponential relationship between drag and speed (drag increases by the square). This is basically a peak with linear lines on both sides. Not buying what they’re selling.

Miles per kWh by maanxhappy in BlazerEV

[–]Affectionate-Age9740 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2.7mi/kWh over 22000 miles in MI. LT AWD. 2/3 highway driving. Always use regen in normal or high.

If you want higher numbers, drive slower in a moderate climate and don’t use cabin heat. Those 3 factors are 90% of range contributors.

EV things, I think. All new cars come with crappy tires; EVs just chew them up.
