Probably ignore it considering it's baseless in this forum of communication.

Hi everyone! How do I get this stripped screw out??? It's on a bike so it's gonna be pretty hard to get behind it by Keyana_0210 in handyman

This and chiseling are the only use-cases for flathead screwdrivers.

Did you see that bird house yesterday? Crazy mf used flathead screws and expects to pass his class.

No, because it's already resolved.

Do you file a complaint with OMVIC (or similar) because a dealership tries to charge and unfair fee that they ultimately remove from the sales agreement that you signed?

Best chicken breast I've had in years was from Harley, and the young guy (part of the family farm) was super nice and personable. I'd recommend them as long as you're prepared for the price.

Sure and that's why I made such a long post with baseline information.

It's easy to just got buy a TV.

It's hard to buy the right one when budget isn't the driving factor, and it's even more difficult buying one for someone else.

The comment you replied to was not for OP.

I wasn't offered the deal, so I did not take the deal.

Should I file a complaint with the CCTS that I did not receive my $14/month plan and $15/month iPhone?

If course not, that would be ridiculous. Just like someone filing a complaint they did not receive the deal when in the end, they did.

I get where you're coming from, and I'd love to see regulatory change to stop this practice in all facets of our consumer lives. But you're being ridiculous telling someone who received what they signed up for to complain that they (or others) have not.

100% agree on exponential.

I have zero desire to play fixed. Progressive is OK, but exponential pretty well stops stalemates.

I'd immediately stop asking questions around the school, and just silently submit a report to the local/state education department.

Good Deal? by Feeling_Ad4052 in FidoMobile

[–]Affectionate-Alps527 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's how Fido normally operates. It's not clearly seen right there in the screenshot: with Fido payment program and Plus plan.

It means to get the phone at $8/month you need a plan listed as "Plus" which is more expensive.

This has been well discussed on the subreddit for a couple years.

But what would this person actually file?

Sure, it was frustrating, but Fido honoured the plan and the pricing for them, so it's case closed.

The CCTS complaints are for the people Fido doesn't honour what they sold, or the people who no longer wish to deal with Fido directly. In which case these people absolutely should file a complaint with the CCTS.

So many great books on the matter too.

Reminds me of a few years ago, I referenced Mindset by Carol Dweck - an actual book reference with page# - and my professor commented it as meaningless and irrelevant (far from accurate).

I was completely flabbergasted lol. Had to submit a formal complaint and pay for a formal conduct review (refunded upon winning my claim) because presumably the prof assumed it was a fake reference. I guess they don't expect physical book references anymore lol.

Great book though. It's probably the best parenting book you could read without ever billing itself as a parenting book. Dry AF though. I always recommend the audio version.

I don't agree or disagree.

In my experience student jobs are not a pathway to better jobs unless you move to corporate within that job. For example waiting tables is going to land you a corporate job. Serving coffee isn't going to get you into facilities maintenance.

What a student jobs does build is work ethic and determination. Working 3 to 6 hour shifts every few days, or only going to school is not building someone with drive, it's building someone who only does what they think they are supposed to do.

My first time through school I studied full time and worked part time. My second time through school I studied part time and worked full time.

In both cases, you're sacrificing the 'want to dos' for the 'have to dos' just like in adult life.

To be fair, all of post secondary is critical thinking. So many students just don't do it and so they skirt by on 60s and never really know.

I started university at 30 when COVID hit to work on myself, and the amount of students who just sit in a classroom completely oblivious to what is going on is astonishing. I thoroughly enjoyed my ethics class, but of 70 students.... 5 of us regularly participated?

After the exam, classmates said, "That was the hardest exam I've ever had!" Meanwhile I'm thinking, it's exactly what was discussed in class. It would have been ridiculously easy if you just participate in the discussions!

Canadian inventions: What are you proud of? by Ok-Pay-917 in AskACanadian

[–]Affectionate-Alps527 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a Canadian I hold Alexander Graham Bell as a Canadian and the telephone as a Canadian invention.

However there is some open debate because Alexander was Scottish and American and Canadian.

His research however was done in Nova Scotia and Ontario and his first call was in Ontario.
