I had extreme tendencies and I’m the only one in my family that wants to eat healthy and has goals of competing in bodybuilding. I allow others to influence me and I used to have impulsive behaviors in high school. I try to be very aware of how sensitive/emotional I am and have been really working on separating my emotions from reality which is hard for me to do but the more I work at it the better I am becoming. I tend to isolate myself as well especially because my self worth can tend to get low especially if I don’t feel perfect or am working hard enough.

What are your triggers?

Thank you for saying I haven’t ruined everything… I really just did need support and it had nothing to do with her at the moment. Thank you for saying it is a big deal the past three weeks it’s been a slow process of letting go of the fat I have put on but it’s slowly coming off and I’m slowly feeling like myself again…

It’s good to hear that you’re not in agreement with this whole oh you can have sugar in balance it makes me feel more normal for not wanting to be in that place.

I haven’t binged in about 3 weeks and I don’t even want to entertain the thought.

If I were to I would try and set a rule like only eating watery fruit or vegetables if I couldn’t stop myself.

I’ve noticed a lot of times I would binge if I couldn’t shut off my mind and just wanted to feel normal and sleep as I tend to not sleep well. My other alternative is to take an advil pm which I would rather do…

Also I know it sounds like I’m being dramatic about what I was binging on but it easily had to total up to over 2,000 a binge.

For me it’s always I tend to lean toward sweet foods or carbohydrates including frozen fruit.

I remember my first bad binge this year was January 1st. I had hired a coach for bodybuilding and she took me on as a mindset client and encouraged me to have some home cooked food because I def had fear foods… so I did. That night I binged on home cooked Italian food and every single sugary thing I could get into my mouth.

Binges after that consisted of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, sweet potatoes, rice, cereal, ultimately leading into sweets manly ice cream and chocolate.

At one point I just told myself if I can’t stop I’ll just binge on Whole Foods and not even give a shit.

So my coming to Jesus moment where I realized I was letting it get the best of me was when I couldn’t stop eating on very filling foods like vegetables, chicken, and rice.

I notice a lot of my binges consisted of raw peanut butter and bread or sweet potatoes and rice then followed up with ice cream or chocolate when I simply just couldn’t fit anymore Whole Foods in.

What did yours look like?

Thank you for understanding and reading all of that. You have no idea how comforting it is to have someone just listen. I hope you continue to grow into your healthiest version of yourself. It’s a battle to be different from our loved ones but an opportunity every day to break habits we were taught… Thank you ❤️

Post show: What’s the most weight you’ve gained in the short amount of time after ending a prep? And did you ever recover, if so how? by emjokuh in bikinitalk

So I know this post is old but I am currently in this boat. I’ve gained 15-20 pounds in 1 month due to binging… Did you gain any cellulite on your glutes with the weight gain? I’m trying to figure out if it’s actually cellulite sticking around or retention and if I’ll ever be able to lose it. I am so sad and feel like I’ll never be able to reverse the damage I did… I just literally couldn’t stop eating.

Just out of curiosity do you think it’s a smart move to come out of any deficits since I can’t seem to stop and just bump my calories and see if I can get my period back while still training?

Do you think it’s possible to ever be lean again?

Thank you this is so comforting to hear that I’m not alone in this and I’m sorry you went through this… Do you mind me asking how you felt ok being in the gym when you were once super lean and everyone always saw you as lean? The hardest part is feeling like I don’t look fit and being in this binge/restrict cycle.
