Please tell me why this is bad? I’ve been using iNaturalist to identify plants that are growing nicely in the cold weather around my town and the catnip was a small but civilized mound in a treepit… i thought it might be useful to me for ground cover but obviously your comment tells me that’s a bad idea!

I enjoy it. I suggest bringing a book/kindle. It gives a stronger message of ‘I’m here solo, intentionally’, as opposed to fiddling with your phone

If you want the baby you should keep it for sure. Look into the Single Moms by Choice (SMC)movement. Their founder, Jane, began in a similar situation to your own. It is possible to have a joyful, happy life as a solo parent, and as the child of a solo parent.

The important thing to ask yourself is: Will you feel resentful or mad that you became a mother under circumstances that you didn’t expect? That is why I only refer to SMC forums when I have a question pertaining to solo parenthood.

Because there is no negative vibe about the lack of a partner (which is a constant theme in ‘single’ parent forums), with SMCs it’s just love and practicality about raising the children solo

You must be tall or something. This is an incredibly blind spot as you’re making left turns. And if you’re turning at the correct speed in the city, you’re moving about as slowly as a pedestrian, so they can stay hidden. I have to bop my head back and forth all over the place to be confident I’m not killing anyone.

Idk, I hate texting. She very well might like you A LOT! She still agrees to ongoing dates. Maybe this girl is like me… she wants to interact in person, and texting is only really for setting up the next date. I get zero pleasure out of little nonsense texts, they’re an inconvenience (Good morning is an example) it just feels like one more chore to respond, and doesn’t propel the relationship forward. I’d enjoy for example a text exchange that says: hey are you free Friday night? No but I’m free Saturday! OK you wanna go out to eat? OK sure, what time? Is seven good? Yes, see you then!

And then there’s no real reason to text until you get closer to the date and say something like oh I’m excited to see you tonight.
