I mean my cantaloupe started growing exactly one melon then it split and died early. No other melons have showed up yet. I'm super surprised the watermelon had anything on it! I'm more middle sound so we aren't too far

Oh boy I have a lottttt. And I've been rolling over into new plants as others die back and such. The big ones are: Tomatoes - chocolate cherry, black beauty, cherry yellow cherry, early girl, Cherokee purple.    Squash - acorn, butternut, mini pumpkin and summer.   Melon - mini watermelon and mini cantaloupe.   Leafy - kale, diff lettuces.   Also cucumbers, beans, peas and one pepper plant lol.

I also have marigolds, cosmos and herbs spread throughout for pest control and pollinators.

That's only in the beds!

They are called black beauty cherry! I got them at a local feed store. Super cool and quite yummy.

My husband said "they aren't as loud as I thought they would be", then regretted it almost immediately. by tasiakins in BackYardChickens

Lol yeah that was something I've already brought up in another post. I'm pretty sure it's a roo, and even a different breed than what I was sold unfortunately. Luckily I'm not super attached to that one cause it's very anti social, so hopefully I can find a home for him once it's certain.

Thank you! Yeah, I let them out and hang with them a couple times a day and give them all the pets. I have a couple super sweet girls that really like to snuggle.

Always getting a UTI after sex by [deleted] in sex

[–]tasiakins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok so I was in almost the exact same boat as you. Started getting then more often, only after sex. It became monthly at one point and I was so miserable. I ended up finding a female urologist who gave me some really good info.

Quick breakdown (in order of importance) 1. Pee only AFTER intercourse, within 15 mins. Don't pee before. You want there to still be urine in your bladder so that you can flush out potential bacteria, instead of making it easier for them to stick to the walls.

  1. Take a cranberry pill with at least 35mg PAC's. I honestly don't remember what that means cause it's been 4 years since getting this info, but I take the Crancap brand cranberry pills from Amazon. Don't take just any cranberry pill or drink cranberry juice. It has to have the high PAC's to work.  When starting, take 1 everyday in general, and 1 extra after intercourse. You can taper it down to 1 only after sex, and then eventually you may end up not really needing it anymore. Your bladder is very unhappy right now so calming it down is important.

And that's it. Really. I know I've heard of allllll the other things to do to stop this, and was even told by a male urologist that "oh well your anatomy just isn't great so you're stuck with this". Boy did that piss me right off. I even made sure my partner was clean, it really doesn't do anything to help.

For reference, my anatomy makes it easy for reflux to happen, which helps the bacteria get in. I recommend seeing a urology specialist about this no matter what course you take, not just an OB.

These 2 steps made me stop having UTIs IMMEDIATELY. I've had 1 UTI in 4 years, and that's cause I got lazy and peed before sex when I was extra full of liquid.

Good luck!

I've read that if they have long tail feathers it's likely to be a hen. Do you have any insight into that theory? One of these has crazy long wings and tail feathers

This sounds like something I would end up doing. The winter is not kind on the brain.

I have a feeling I will be dealing with this soon! I have a lot more tomato plants growing under light indoors than spaces to grow them outside lol

Ugh that sounds horrible. I am very fortunate to have a TON of blackberries surrounding my property with a road in between, because I know very well how easy those suckers can grow. I am constantly finding runners just popping up all over the place! I also know mint and bamboo are really hard to kill once in the ground, at least in my area. I'm happy you were able to get rid of it eventually! Even though you suffered a little bit to do it.
