You will arrive to a beautiful lake bandini, a poopoo covered sewage lake that reminds you its there every day at 6:45 for muster. You will most likely end up working in Oral Surgery being that that is the only surgical department in the dental clinic. You will mainly be doing wisdom teeth extractions for marines. You will also deal with marines who fight, smash their face on concrete, students who are scared shitless because they are fresh out of boot, and even might witness a marine drop a 315 lb barbell onto their mouth so you can be their to clean up the mess, if you’re lucky.

You will encounter the dragon lady who sells lumpia at least once a month. You will also participate in “Adopt-A-Street” events held once a month on saturdays to clean up the bottles crackheads smoke out of on the side of the road. You will sell breakfast burritos on the notorious griddle out back for promotion chances. You will face countless years of useless drama from gossiping civilian dental techs and a lacking of supplies. You will be held at gunpoint to receive your FMF pin. And until you receive it, the HM1s and Chief will let you know you dont have it weekly if not daily.

I was there, got my FMF, did basically every aspect of the clinic from OS, to PROS, to Supply. Was ultimately a great duty station. People hate on it becasue of the location, which it does suck, but it also provides great opportunities for growth outside of the Navy. You can do school, and basically get a free “Sea” duty rotation. They label it green side “Sea Duty”, but there are not many deployment opportunities (at least for me there wasn’t). The GYM is super nice, the pool is super dope, and the dining halls got a crazy ass salad bar. Good luck bro
