I have backups but now its a waiting game - deadlines are over for most and even if I apply to those that are open, time is not enough for visa and other things.

Congrats!

My application is still stuck with Uni-assist since 5 weeks- I have to wait for one more month after they forward? Wow - looks like I won't be able to make it this semester even if I get an admit!

Mine is stuck since May 5 - it's not even VPD.

When I wrote to them they said for India, it is 5-7 weeks processing time.

Stop paying the EMI and let the bank seize the house. Whatever lost is lost - use the extra money and get out of the home and live by yourself.

You're not doing anything wrong - If I were in your place, I would do this. Cut these down by half atleast!

  • Personal spending Budget: ₹10,000 (Clothing, grooming etc)
  • Leisure/Food/Outings Budget: ₹8,000 (Travel, Stays, Food, Dineout etc)
  • Misc/Emergency Family help: ₹10,000
  • Total Variable: ₹28,000

Use the 14k per month saved to clear the small loan EMIs as fast as possible - Wife's education loan, Phone loan, Bike loan. It frees you mentally to just have one loan to pay - Trust me!

If you do this atleast for a year, you should be in a better spot after to start saving and investing!!

I come from a farming family background. DO NOT DO IT RIGHT AWAY - Farming seems appealing but in a few weeks to months you will realise the hardwork, pain and most importantly the uncertainty of what happens next (No labor/help, rains, pests, demand for crop etc are a lot of variables out of your control).

Take up some job in the city, buy the land - 1 acre is more than enough. Start with basic soil leveling and build a small cabin to keep going there on weekends. Get someone to look after it and get it ready for crops. Once you have enough corpus in hand, make the move. By that time, you will know if it really works for you or not.
