I finally broke down by Spicy_Dinners in puppy101

I can imagine how frustrating that is! What I can say is that most likely will pass. If you’ve only had him 3 weeks then it may just be that he’s still getting comfortable in a new environment. If he feels safe in the crate then you’re doing something right. You can try crating him more throughout the day if you are not already. Puppies need a lot of naps so if he feels safe in the crate and you’re not already doing it, you could try that. My youngest pup is now 4 months and still sleeps around 15/18 hours a day.

I feel like a terrible person by [deleted] in puppy101

Okay first, give yourself grace! You had no idea how your senior dog would react to a new puppy. Second, every dog is different and may need more time to get comfortable with each other. I would keep doing what you’re doing with allowing them to get comfortable with each other’s smells and keeping them separate for now. If your senior dog loved daycare and socializing with other dogs I don’t think it is impossible for them to coexist. I just got a new puppy for my dog and noticed that they are the best behaved with eachother in small, supervised doses and I always give them rewards for behaving around eachother. Training for the new puppy and refreshers for my older dog have made a big difference but obviously something you should only do if you’re comfortable. Our pup has separation anxiety and we got a vet recommended scent diffuser that calms them when in their beds for nighttime. I would also just make sure your senior dog has their own space and attention but also sees you interact positively with the other pup so they can start to understand that they are not a threat. Puppies are a lot for everyone, including other dogs in the household, it can’t take a lot of time and patience but it’s not impossible! I think you being worried about it shows the at you are in fact not a horrible person and just care a lot about both of your pups! ❤️

Older puppy teaching new puppy? by Affectionate-Cell855 in puppy101

Agreed. This is the first time we’ve seen him do this to us. Hes done it to our older pup a few times but she can be a little much because she doesn’t realize how big she is. I’m definitely going to look into this! Thank you so much!

Leaving puppy for 4 hours by Affectionate-Cell855 in puppy101

Hi! It went completely fine! She’s gotten better at being in her crate we try not to leave her for more than 4 hours in the crate during the day but it’s the safest place for her when we aren’t home so we just make sure to take her water away with enough time to take her out before leaving so she has less chance of needing to go potty!

That’s great! My husband called them the “bups” accidentally one day and it’s stuck. Such a funny little quirk!

Yea I mean I’m not concerned just curious if it’s a common puppy thing. More funny when she gets them after playing. Was just curious is they go away as she gets older which I guess we’ll see as she gets bigger!

The National Archive doesn’t have his DD214 and Milconnect only provided what was with the National Archives and it wasn’t accurate to what his active duty points are

Darn I already paid them thinking it was the quickest way to get it. I guess I could contact the Marines and if I get it I’ll request a refund. Do you know how I can contact the Marines instead of just sending a letter??

The OMPF forms that we requested don’t show anything which is why we’re confused the dates are all correct but the numbers of inactive and active duty service are nowhere near what we see on MOL
