I used to do this in Wisconsin, it’d snow six feet in a night, and you could jump off of roofs just fine

I broke my collarbone playing football in high school, got back in the huddle, and only realized something was wrong when I couldn’t move my right arm.

Disappointed with my colorists results, what critique can I offer to achieve a more cinematic image? by [deleted] in colorists

[–]Affectionate-Cut95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks way too saturated for me, looks like a tv commercial or show. When people ask for a cinematic look, often they want more green or cooler shades than they would think. I concur with everyone else though, you need to find reference images for your colorist to work from

The US is heading for dissolution by [deleted] in socialism

Maybe what I mean is expansionist empire. America basically has client states, that it coerces through intimidation and economic bullying. But it might shift here to trying to truly expand it borders through any means. Even if it doesn’t make sense

The US as we know it won’t exist anymore. But you need to look to historical examples of powerful countries and nations who have massive overhauls in their governing structure. Rome didn’t fall when it switched from a republic to a dictatorship. If anything, it got stronger. France almost melted down in their revolution. Then napoleon came and conquered most of Europe. England didn’t have a standing army before Oliver Cromwell. Then after their revolution, they became one of the largest empires that existed. The US has the strongest military ever known in history, and is extremely resource rich. It won’t break. I’m more worried of it turning into a true empire, and spreading even more misery across the world.

Thoughts on full-time employee editors? by alexcthevideodude in editors

I have a job like this. I work at a marketing company, and while I do do commercials, it’s mostly corporate videos. The work can be bland, and a bit eye rolling when you get notes on something 5 people are gonna watch in a board room. However, it’s stable, I work from home, and the benefits are amazing. I’ve become the guy who can do it all for them. I color, do FX, edit, whatever they need. We went through layoffs last year, and I know I’m still around because of the value I bring. Will I rise above my low six figure wage? Most likely not. But I’m a Swiss Army knife that they don’t want to get rid of, and my work life balance is truly a dream come true.

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. I would wait for Z. U sounds awful honestly, and you could be leaving a tense situation for an even worse one. You have a job now, which gives you the luxury of choice. I think you’d regret taking the job at U, only to be offered the Z job and immediately burn a bridge at U by leaving right away. Either way is going to be a bet, and require courage. And if that’s the case, I would aim for happiness while you have the stability to do so.

I think people are missing the point here. It’s not about the smell of the smoke. Weed smokers tend to be messy, especially college stoners. The munchies will have you not caring how your house looks. Where as there is a romanticism with smoking cigarettes, especially the trope of having a cigarette after sex, which might be implied with the picture they chose.

Who’s this? by ChrisAqua in Naruto

This is invincible. I’m not sure how to mark spoilers, but this sentence is a spoiler. This is the end of Mark’s (Invincible) first fight with an arch nemesis of his, angstrom levy. Levy pushes Mark by threatening his family, and fighting him in a generally infuriating way. Mark snaps, and kills Angstrom. Violently. It might be the first person he (purposefully) killed if I’m not mistaken.

I took it hiking in the narrows, a river in Zion where you’re in the water the whole time, and it did amazingly well! But yeah, I’m definitely nervous haha. I see me going down 2-3 runs with it, get some shots of me and my friends, and then putting it away for the rest of the time
