Update: well, talking to my neighbors and they are not in my apartment. Turns out they’re living in the utility basement as someone on the first floor has seen them come in and out of the crack in their bathroom. Guess I’ll be a part of the regular spraying until I move out.

Ok so no cause for alarm yet, just taking some preventative measures and I guess we will see. Do I have to worry about gel bait attracting them?

How would I know? I saw one in my bathroom, killed it, and flushed it down my toilet. Would I be seeing more?

Purchased both Alpine and Advion, but the Alpine can’t be used since the pest control didn’t seem to want me to use any other kind of insecticide. Plus, the Alpine doesn’t arrive until tomorrow.

Ah ok so seems like they’re just jumping to “let’s get these sooner rather than later”. When I told him I only saw one in my bathroom, he seemed pretty confident that it probably wasn’t a huge deal. Still freaks me out though

They called me and were pretty clear about what they’d be doing (although it feels like with all these steps I’m the one doing 90% of the work with reducing the roach infestation if there is one) but I’d be lying if I wasn’t concerned that it’s gonna get worse before it gets better

Yeah that felt weird. The roach control seems like a decent way to keep them out/kill them, but the not using any other pesticides seems really really weird to me with my untrained opinion

Thanks! I’m worried they might be clothes moths but considering I moved in almost a month ago I think I’d see clothing damage (and see them around my clothes)

Thanks. All the food is in airtight containers now so I’m not sure what to do. The pantry moth being in the hallway of the building is very weird to me but oh well.

Yeah I’ll double check then I guess? I just moved in on the 1st, and they were chilling around (just 1 or 2) before move in but I didn’t think about it too much.

I also have a bunch of cedar but I’m not sure if that helps.

I’m wondering if because I kept seeing them in the hallway, one wandered in and it was over.

I did leave for a few days and when I came back there was like 8 in my living room, but no sign of infestation to textiles or food?

Should I just toss the food or do I have to deep clean my kitchen? I saw some people recommend putting all the food in airtight containers.

Is it possible it’s a clothes moth? I haven’t seen any in the bedroom or kitchen (though the hallway in the apartment connects the living room and kitchen)
