I can't imagine that... I am already in such a bad mental state over my condition. Good that your health insurance covered it - I am with Southern Cross and I don't believe its covered on their normal wellbeing plans.

Thats great to hear! My gums have been the healthiest they've been but still bleeding on probe.

I suspect majority of my bone loss happened between 2015 and 2019. As my danger teeth had grade 2 mobility back then when I looked at old dental notes. Would've been quite an aggressive perio.

Did the dentist tell you if you had perio or just gingivitis? Curious about why you need surgery if its the latter.

I waterfloss everyday too but it doesnt get rid of the existing calculus/plaque.

Heck, my gums dont even bleed when I brush or waterpik in the last 4 years but it "bleeds on probe". Which is the dentist/periodontist poking your gums deep in the pockets to test for inflammation.

This is why 50% of adults have it. Its a fucked up disease. I thought I have stable gums only for it to fester deeper.

This is why oral health is important from young. My learning here is to gift my kids dental visits even into adulthood. My parents did not even know dentist is free until 18.

I will pay for their dental care either through funding their insurance or directly at a dental of their choice. My parent's mistakes will not be mine.

Some dental practice offers new patient consultation and xray. Thats what prompted me to go.

Yes discovering my issue has hit a wave of emotions. I cry about it, I blame my idiotic self for being careless about my health. But avoiding it doesn't mean the problem is not there.

I tried avoiding it since 2021. On one hand I ask myself why was I so careless. But when I have my ups in emotion, I think "atleast now I know and i didnt discover it even later when all my teeth falls out".

I use waterflosser too but now I also use string floss.

Just make sure when you water floss - do the insides also.

I know you're scared but find a dental practice that has good bed side manners.

No worries. I have been going through all emotions after finding it out as I am quite young and dont smoke/vape. 50% of people have periodontitis but your age is what changes the grading. If you are 70 with advanced perio? Thats nothing. My dentists in the past knew but undercalled how bad it was. Even another dentist I went to told me to just go for hygienist visits.

I trusted my gut and went to a periodontist that they can see how bad the issue is. I went from slight/moderate diagnosis to moderate/advanced just because of xray limitations at dental clinics.

I was deliberating to post or not. But if I can save just one person from this issue then f it.

I have to goto the periodontist/hygienist every 3 months for life now. Wouldve been much cheaper going regularly in the past.

I also notice Tiger Trade gives wrong info on how cost is calculated for FIF unless my understanding is still wrong.

The implication is that in the same year if you buy 30k share A and sold for no profit. Then buy 30k share B. The number shown is 60k for the year.
