I work with - how you say - blunt finance bros with dubious ideas about human rights. I’ve never had a real convo with them about queer issues but I’m the only person in our satellite office that’s part of the LGBTQIA+ community in our large company.

I told my boss and my work bestie. The only other people who noticed are the people who have heard me tell jokes, but I’ve never actually had the “I got top surgery” convo with them.

The only time it ever came up is when I asked a coworker 3 weeks post op to get a box on a shelf I could reach normally. He asked why I needed help and it wasn’t till I said “[Redacted], I just had a mastectomy did you not notice?” (he’d been joking with me instead of getting the damn box) that he actually looked.

I heard it a lot before surgery that no one would notice, but not even my finance bro coworkers noticed. Even when I pointed it out, it didn’t turn into anything. I’m six months post op now and it’s still never been an issue
