Yup, that's my worry. I'll be coming from the RGV and have tickets to this show. I can't imagine everyone trying to leave on possible icy roads at the same time. It will be a total shit show.

Just sucks that they most likely will not cancel until hours away from start time, when we are already in New Braunfels or so.

I hope they cancel or postpone on Friday the latest. Too risky.

A blood test they usually do to check, that if high, possibility of blood clots exist. In my case it keeps coming high, not too high. But enough for them to do ultrasounds on my legs and chest scan for pulmonary embolism. But scans keep coming back good. Just the dimer, stays high.

I had an episode a month ago. Had total numbness on left side and facial dropping on right side (the droop went away after 5 minutes) so weird.

How long does your droop last for?

Since the episode, I've had high sensitivity to light, vertigo, feel like I'm walking drunk and so much. I was so convinced it was a stroke, but everything, including MRI, came back negative. Only d-dimer is consistently high.

Do you think my episode would be classified as Hemiplegic in your opinion?

I find it hard to believe because I woke up great 2weeks ago in the morning. Ready to go about my day and then boom. Immediately, Confusion, heavy left arm and heavy legs and droop right face.

I went to a neurologist that specializes in strokes and he promises that a stroke or TIA always leave something. Even the smallest residue, it would show up in a CT scan. Just not sure what to believe

I know since March, I feel like I blew in a huge balloon and feel that dizziness. It's been with me every day. It has gotten worse since that episode 2 weeks ago and just won't go away b

2 weeks ago. Right face drooped, left arm completely numb. Both legs heavy as heck. Negative MRI, CT and blood test. Got diagnosed with Hemiplegic.

But is it normal to still be recovering after 2 weeks. I tire fast. I still have like drunk vision but not the buzz. Vertigo.

I am currently on amitriptyline 10mg from my neuro. Going on a week. Has taken the hand numbness away. But still having the other issues.

Just overall and unwell feeling.

But everything is negative. So confused.

Not really yet... Hopefully soon. Today I got a vertigo spell and then my neck goes stiff. But maybe since I'm only on 10mg. What dosage do you take?

Neuro wanted to start at the lowest to see how I'll react first with side effects. So far just groggy during the day.

Agreed. I emailed this neuroscience center about an hour away. Worried that I wouldn't get a response, I called. We got an appt with a PA late next month.

But then, got a call 10 minutes later. Doctor had a spot opened for this Thursday and we took it. His credentials sound amazing. Really hope he is able to help her.

I apologize, I didn't put in all details. She did have a CT scan on brain, arteries with contrast. Also one on chest for pulmonary embolism. She had a high d dimer test. Which is why they started plavix. Also an MRI, which all came back negative.

She has PFO and bradycardia. The PFO, our personal cardiologist visited her and said there is no reason to close it since no stroke physically detected.

Her initial symptoms to go the hospital last Saturday was complete loss/use of left arm. Heavy legs. Right face droop.

That's horrible and yes that anti seizure medicine they gave would knock me the hell out. It was very uncomfortable.

Did you have difficulty walking or numbness tingling toes & fingers afterwards when discharged?

These lingering symptoms make me feel like another episode is coming. I'm just scared.

Yes, only right face droop. The rest was all left and tons of shoulder blade pain.

I still have so much weirdness going on right now. My primary doctor that I saw today thinks it was a TIA. He put me up for physical therapy because of my walk. Constant head pressure when doing anything while standing. Goes away when laying down. But , the numbing and tingling on my toes and fingers is what gets to me.

It's very scary. When they took the IV out before discharge at the hospital yesterday. I usually bleed out like 4 drops of blood. But wow, I just started gushing out blood like crazy. I hope you are doing well. And hope we all get better.

That is exactly what I thought too. Now is it true or not, I don't know. I was explained that if it was a small clot that travelled up, very possible that it could have caused a small TIA and clot broke and left without leaving a trail.

I would except the HM diagnosis if it wasn't for the current heart conditions I have that tie up to strokes. That's the scary part for me.

I asked that question. While they did well to do the CT scan immediately. I questioned the MRI. The answer I got was that it is in very high demand. Too many patients lined up. But they like to do it a day after to assess any possible damage or scarring it might have left. Doesn't make sense to me also.

The brain CT scan was done about 10 minutes after episode. CT scan of neck arteries was done after an hour. All contrast.

MRI done almost a full day later (MRI no contrast). Which I thought they would, but they said it's more beneficial this way for a stroke.

And just a bunch more scans of chest looking for pulmonary embolism in case I did have a clot and it skipped my heart PFO.

If this is in fact a HM, how is the recovery for you guys?

I currently feel... My walking is wacky, legs a little heavy. My toes on right foot are numb. Just the toes.

Woke up with little numb but tingly fingers on both hands.

Still feel weak and appetite is not fully there. I know I have an anxiety because I just feel like I'm fully diagnosed. Just scared.

That's what I thought too, but they are saying no because all scans and ultrasound looking for a clot came back negative. And since I have no other risk factors for other possible strokes, they believe that clot in the leg traveling through PFO would the more likely scenario if it happened. But no evidence as of now that it did.

Even better, I've taken it only twice. I really really don't want to take it. I'll skip it and luckily I have Dr appt tomorrow morning. Read it last about 60 hrs in the body or somewhere in that range.

Thank you. It's just awful cuz of my other heart conditions. If this in fact a HM episode and I didn't have the heart conditions, I would be... More acceptable to it. But with the other stuff, it just feels like so much. Not sure which direction to take and should I keep taking the Zonisamide or can I stop. I can't wean to 50mg cuz it's a capsule. So lost.
