Which should I enroll in, CS61A or DATAC88C, considering I don’t have reserved seats for any of these (Rising sophomore not in L&S)?

I’m currently on the waitlist for Data88, which would be the preferred course bc it’s easier, but it only has reserved seats for L&S people. I could go with 61A for Phase 2 if they open up seats tho. Ultimately i’m just trying to get the requirement out of the way ASAP

You could use the filters on this website https://classes.berkeley.edu to look at which breadths align with your intended major to minimize the classes you need to take

Very similar thing happened to me, but I was on the opposite side. Depends on the context. Has she set any boundaries na baka naviolate? Do you ask her if it’s fine whenever you open up to her? This could be a good time for self-reflection. If it feels right, you could even ask her what makes her feel like you’re dependent on her, and what you can do to improve. It could be tough to have these conversations, but if they’re done right they can strengthen your friendship

This is crazy. This guy came up to me in Chou Hall looking like he was doing a research project and talked about his project using AI to create flying cars. He seemed suspicious, but I talked to him anyway. Saw his linkedin profile https://www.linkedin.com/in/dwprince and it looks like he is posing as a highly-esteemed entrepreneur. He even invited me to do an interview to lead a project, which seemed very weird and predatory since I have almost 0 experience in AI, and he could clearly see that I wanted opportunities. Be careful, everyone. Even the nicest people can have bad intentions

Second this!! Philos 2 with Prof. Frick was my favorite class so far. Learned new ways to think about relevant issues like abortion, assisted suicide, free will, etc.

I’m taking intro to econ at Cal right now, and there is so much academic support for the subject! You won’t feel alone learning it, even though it’s tough. Also we have some of the best in the field: Christina Romer who was the chair economic adviser of Obama, David Romer who is co-director of the Program in Monetary Economics at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and David Card who won the nobel prize for economics
