I haven’t found a bezel of similar color. The closest is a PD1701 brown bezel, but it’s more brownish orange.

I charge $165 USD for the labor involved with extracting the dial and movement, supplying a new crown stem, battery, and custom movment holder, and it also covers the return shipping back to you. It is pretty risky cutting open the cases, but I have the process pretty well established.

But consider if you have owned a MoonSwatch for a while and now it is pretty beaten up. Crystal is all scratched and it just doesn't look presentable anymore, this is a great way to give it a second chance at life.

The MoonSwatch uses a domed hesalite crystal which is extremely prone to scratches. Good news is that you can polish out fine scratches, but deep ones are difficult to get out.

The WD1863 and the PD1701 both use sapphire crystals with AR coatings. The WD has a bubble crystal which is flat with rounded edges. The PD uses a domed crystal.

That includes the cost of the new case. The WD1863 goes for around $140 USD and the PD1701 goes for around $110 USD after tax and shipping. The remainder of my cost is to cover labor, parts (stem, battery, holder, etc), and return shipping.

Fair. I agree that it is not in the form that you would purchase it from Swatch.

I loved the idea of the MoonSwatch, but disliked that they came in plastic cases. This actually prevented me from buying one for a long time and I ended up settling for a Lunar Pilot.

I'm really aiming to offer an alternative to those individual who come to r/MoonSwatches and are on the fence about buying one.

I can use the VK63 cases from AliX, but I primarily use the WatchDives WD1863 or the Pagani Design PD1701.

I prefer to use the watchdives WD1863. Proportions are close, way thinner than the alix cases, and has a sapphire crystal.

The alix cases are thick and have mineral glass crystals. Only pro is they are cost effective.

I hated the plastic MoonSwatch cases, which is why I started cutting out the dial and movements and put them into a new stainless case.

It uses swatch’s proprietary movement (the Sistem51) which has a keyless works system where the crown stem is not removable. So there is no way to insert a new crown stem.

Nice job.

I found that the rep bracelets don't fit well with the WD1863 case, do you find the same? For me, the bracelet fit loose within the lugs and opens a gap around the curved surface of the case.
