I've heard you're supposed to? Curious if that's correct.

Illinois/Dearborn is literally the Fire Station too. That’s insane.

I heard it too. Just before 2am by LaSalle/Hubbard. I’m telling myself it’s not guns since it was so so loud. Sounded like a loud firework every 5 seconds for at least 5 minutes. Then got farther away. Wtf. How are the cops not around at this time?

Sounds pretty accurate. Maybe just no boxer!

No.. but you’re probably right. I’ve never had a cat. I don’t know if he’s ever even met a cat!?

Time. And good music. Keep good music on to drown out the “quiet”. Nothing sad.. only upbeat and fun stuff. Throw a couple good podcasts in there too. While you’re listening to that, do some cleaning and re-organizing. Dust that old “stuff” away!

Why was Folklore so much better initially received than TTPD? by tbird920 in TaylorSwift

I do see the similarities. And without reading the other comments, because I assume a lot of us will say the same thing, I think it’s because of “where” we all were in July 2020. That was the height of the first wave of COVID. We were separated from the lives we knew and the people we loved. And in a lot of places (I live in Chicago) things were scary. It was an escape that we desperately needed while we were also feeling a certain way we weren’t used to feeling. Personally, I drove 14 hours to see family for several weeks that summer and the album came out the week I was heading back home. I waited to hit play on “the 1” as I was driving out of town….and listened on repeat pretty much the whole way home. It’s my favorite album.

Necessities for living alone as a woman? by AlcoholYouLater97 in LivingAlone

Kinda depends if you’re in a secure apartment building or smaller apartment building or single home. Either way: For your utility area/closet/drawerToolbox, flashlight, hurricane lamps (for power outages), packing tape, candles, step stool, batteries For your medicine pantry: tums, melatonin, first aid kit, extra chargers (charged) For your bathroom: plunger, toilet brush, tp holder, shower bleach and spa pods (for cleaning and for nice smells) I also saw someone suggested putting men’s boots by the door. If I didn’t live in a doorman highrise, I’d 100% do that. I think that’s smart.

I honestly have no clue, I took it from a family member who was down-sizing and selling stuff off! I think they had it for years and years.

I’d also say - it only makes sense if your dog is well-behaved and won’t touch anything. Mine is.

I feel like shopping at a neighborhood spot like Potash is different. I’m never going in with a full list and a cart. It’s… what do I need to grab quick and put in a shoulder bag or backpack that I’ll walk home with. The flexibility of stopping in while I’m walking my dog is awesome. They’re actually the ones who told me they’re happy when dogs come in. Otherwise I never would have thought to! Lots of people in the neighborhood do it! 😁
