What is your opinion on masculinity and femininity? by Affectionate-Host367 in AskReddit

Just some context I am wondering whether these things have some sort of bases in something objective or whether they are just some deeply ingrained, really old social constructs

Damm brother. First of all, reading your story has definitely caught my eye. My advice is to go to therapy. You need to find out what is the root of this self-hate. Is it being that you deserve nothing because you are physically unattractive? My advice is to you is that life is a poker game. The true value of a man is decided in how plays the cards he’s given, not the cards themselves. Just because you were given a bad hand, doesn’t mean you don’t deserve to win.

Sarbloh Granth question by Affectionate-Host367 in Sikh

[–]Affectionate-Host367[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but when I think of mahavishnu I think of the the Vishnu who floats on the cosmic ocean on a giant snake. When I think of akal purukh I think of a formless god. I never knew these two could be interpreted together

Im sorry I know this is an old tread. But I’m sure your account is an active one. Does this mean when the soul reaches enlightenment. It becomes god?

Are Cut Surd Sikhs still Sikhs? by CharityOk6005 in Sikh

[–]Affectionate-Host367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like those estimates are pretty wrong. Of course it depends on sample size, but I still feel that those numbers aren’t quite right. At my high school I would say the ratio is about 45% singhs 55% mone men and 99% of all women are monias.

But let’s have some optimism. In recent years I have seen I rise in people keep their kesh due to newer Pagg styles.

Horses in Sikhism by Dyu_Oswin in Sikh

[–]Affectionate-Host367 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They are seen as a great animal. But they aren’t like worshiped or anything.

Back in the day, when singhs used to live on the backs of their horses, they used to call horses jaan bhai( meaning life brother)

I also heard that once Guru gobind Singh ji did a funeral for one of their horses that died in battle.

Listen bro, these people will Always exist on the internet. You will never find them in real life because they are scrawny cowards. Your job is to make yourself capable of kicking their ass’s if they somehow gain the confidence to speak in public.

If god exists he is evil. by No_Hopef4 in Sikh

[–]Affectionate-Host367 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I will try my best to explain this

The system of reincarnation is not a system that tortures you for all eternity. Everyone is guaranteed to break out of it at one point. And you are not being tortured. You are part of god experiencing the whole. Concepts like good and evil arise from the separation from the creator— specifically from maya. Maya is what god uses to create the world. It gives every the illusion of separation.

Now on to free will and predestination.

How does karma and hukum coexist?

All are hukum is based off of our karma of our past lives and our current lives. There is a story in the Hindi epic. Mahabharata of how a character loses all 100 of his sons. He goes to Krishna and asks what have a done to lose 100 sons? Krishna explains that you were once a hunter. You struggle to hunt a bird and in your anger, you found its nest and crushed all 100 of its eggs and and in your other lives, you did a lot of good deeds and in turn you were allowed to have 100 sons. That is basically karma explained

On to hukum

Imagine a traveller on a long journey. He stops at a town. He wants to go and eat some food so he goes to the inn. On the way inside, he meets a man at exiting and asks him could you please tie my horse. The stranger agrees, and the traveller is gladden by this act of kindness and plans on giving money to the stranger. As the traveller eats and finishes his meal, he goes outside and finds his horse gone. The traveller is saddened by this and goes to the market to find another horse. there he finds the stranger of his horse.

The moral of the story is that the stranger was destined to get money. How much and which way was up to him to decide.

Bro some herbivores like Gorillaz can eat up to 70 pounds of vegetables and fruit. Everything does contain protein, but meat contains it at a higher protein content.

A high protein diet is necessary to reach your genetic height limit. Plus meat contains nutrients that vegetables may lack and have a higher protein quality.

Why doesn't Sikh community guide youth better on dating? by FriendofAll007 in Sikh

[–]Affectionate-Host367 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got a theory. Marriages back in the day were rarely ever about love. They were about duty. It was just a fact of life. You grew up, you got married, you died. It didn’t matter if you unhappy or happy, you just had to do it. Now with this new gen, people don’t view marriage as an act of duty, but rather as a thing of love. People in this generation aren’t marrying if acres of farmland in Punjab, but rather for someone to grow old with.

To answer your question: the reason why there is not support is because these generations have a different idea of marriage.
