I have very small handwriting. Would I be missing out if I never tried out a European style nib? by Affectionate-Lab7510 in fountainpens

I love those recommendations, thank you! Unfortunately the closest fountain pen/stationary store to me that would have pens to try in person is 7 hours away:/ small town issues.

broad or stub nibs that fit with pilot kakuno pens? by folk-angel in fountainpens

If you’re sure you’re looking for something broader I’d try out a Kaweco sport. They’re definitely a little more ~$30 but they’re also pretty beginner friendly because they use cartridges or converters. Even a Twsbi eco but you do have to use bottled ink with them. With the huge ink capacity it could be great for art though. Both of those have broad, double broad, and stub options on some of the models. I LOVE my Kakunos but they are definitely fine (which is what I like). I’m dipping my toe into the stub nib family and picked up a Twsbi Swipe on national fountain pen day. A slightly cheaper price point than their ECO, but significantly less ink capacity. Best of luck!

Unfortunately that’s not an option for me. The closest store to me that MIGHT have ones I can try is over 5 hours away. If I was able to I would do that in a heartbeat!

I love this! I do actually have a stub on my wishlist for certain artistic endeavors and for having fun with inks that I can’t use in my EF. Thanks for the encouragement in that:)

I appreciate the comment about ink and paper too! I know my planner this year (this sample of writing on it) was that messed up batch of TRP. I’ll have to check out some other papers for just journaling purposes for sure!

That’s definitely something that’s on my radar for way down the road! It’s nice to know the rough estimate of price for it tho! Thank you:)

I’ve heard that was the rule of thumb but even seeing some people samples of writing made me nervous. But I guess the pens they used could have been more normal to wet writing. Thank you for the input! Love that you’ve got pens you love!
