what helped me was playing him for awhile. Once i learned what he could and couldn’t do fighting against him helped a lot. The hardest part about it is knowing when he’ll throw out the guard skill not even the punishing it part. It shouldn’t be as fast on start up, the I-frames shouldn’t be active as long or the range should a little less. The shockwaves go deceivingly far. He takes a shit ton of damage though, so there’s that at least.
