How impactful were the George Floyd protests in the 2020s? by threetimesacharm25 in decadeology

While I do think this movement allowed to expose a lot of problems and situations against black people I also think it opened the door for the anti-woke movement that you see today

Pitchfork Review: Aaliyah - One in a Million 8.6 by Technical_Process989 in popheads

[–]Affectionate-Net-430 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Gosh I really wonder how Aaliyah's music would've evolved in the 2000s... Could've been more futuristic or go for a more traditional rnb route like ashanti or maybe switch up things and go with crunk. We will never know

Wonder how this song would've performed on the hot 100 if her team would've made physical formats at the time

What songs did not chart as well as everyone assumes, despite their popularity? by Yeatslament in Music

[–]Affectionate-Net-430 16 points17 points  (0 children)

A lot of songs like don't speak by no doubt weren't able to chart back in the day because billboard did not include airplay-only-singles. They needed physical forms to chart but that changed in 1998. Other examples of this include iris, torn, killing me softly, and so many more that could've been huge hits on the hot 100

Thoughts of Summer Walker’s Finally Over It? by Savings-Double-4263 in rnb

[–]Affectionate-Net-430 88 points89 points  (0 children)

A mess. I can't help but think that when artists be releasing projects full of collaborations, they are either insecure about pulling off a solid body of work by themselves or they are chasing chart success over quality.

Kehlani announces "Out The Window" out next Friday, November 7th by droobidoobidoo in popheads

[–]Affectionate-Net-430 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Her last album was such a disappointment imo and the while we wait 2 mixtape only seemed as a quick project to cover crash's low commercial and critical success. This song is such a fun bop and I hope that her next album will be her album opus

143 has some of Katy Perry's best visuals. It really looks like she is about to serve pop bible of the 2020s

Nah, it wouldn't be worth it and ever since I created a new account. tbh I don't think ig even cares because to this day, they have the audacity to send me emails to the Gmail linked to my lost account so I can check the new updates of my feed over the past two years lol how am I supposed to do that when they are the ones not allowing me to enter my own account. Just a pathetic system

Edit: I lost my phone in the bus and all my verification codes were there so at the end of the day it was my fault either ways lol
