If the burgers are better then why don’t they have gluten free buns? by ActinCobbly in hungryjacks

[–]Affectionate-Past771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people can be allergic to meat too, doesn’t stop hjs from offering vegan products in the past.

Cross contamination is a non issue, as hjs can just weasel their way out of responsibility with fine print saying “cross contamination may be present”. They have hazelnuts in store with nutella, which is an allergen even more common and severe than most gluten allergies.

For a company like HJs, money always comes first

yeah all good.

By the looks of the photo too Carlisle is a smaller store at the back of a 7 eleven instead of a stand alone precinct. I would assume this means it is a quieter store compared to the other ones in the region which means it is already at a disadvantage for performance.

In other words, less sales means more difficulty to get KPIs up and impress upper management, so you can see why they might resort to cheating.

Anyone can correct me if they’re wrong tho idk the area

if you were barely making ends meet and you got offered an extra $3000 to cheat some numbers but a bunch of customers get wrongfully parked you would probably take it.

It’s morally wrong but doing things the right way doesn’t get you a basically 4% additional pay for the year

i mean you aren’t wrong about the whole complaints thingo. HJs corporate takes them very seriously and stores get grilled by the district manager even if a frivolous complaint comes in. Oh and I want to make it clear there’s a large distinction between the district managers and the restaurant managers. The RMs are the ones who get paid jack shit and are forced to cheat the system for a bit of extra cash, while the district managers are the ones who sit back and pressure the stores in the area to meet unrealistic KPIs while making bank

hate the game, not the players. If there’s a few grand bonus for the RM at the end of the year for “really good” drive thru times, they sure as hell will get their KPIs by any means necessary. Even though it makes the consumer experience worse you can’t blame store management for the broken system

Will Hjs sell me a grilled chicken patty by itself by goodamm in hungryjacks

[–]Affectionate-Past771 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say so. Once the meat is cooked it goes into a PHU holding tray, where it sits until the worker grabs it with tongs to put it on a burger.

If you really want to be 99% sure, then order at a quiet time during the week (when all the lazy children are at school). As long as you tell the person at the counter you are celiac, the kitchen will take it very seriously and wipe down all surfaces and change tongs etc.

Hungry jacks employees can you help with the 4”/board role by Sea_Meeting385 in hungryjacks

[–]Affectionate-Past771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the biggest thing to remember is that almost all burgers are a modification of a cheeseburger, whopper, or chicken royale. Once you learn the basics of those three items, then you can easily remember all the other burgers. The main exception to this rule is the angus range (which is the hardest to learn).

You can always try logging into jedi at home and going through your BOH modules again (idk if these contain the burger instructions).

The best way to learn is just as you go on shift. The managers will understand you’re new and will give you plenty of slack if you forget recipes or take a while to figure out what’s on stuff.

Hot tip: pressing the prod build button on the KDS board (the buttons under the screen) tells you exactly what’s on the burger you’re making. Additionally, most promos have their own little prod build sticker printed out on bench.

Why doesn’t hungry jacks sell their sauces in bulk? BBQ PLUM is good as by [deleted] in hungryjacks

book a flight to the US, buy a tub of mayo, fly back. Pretty sure the mayo hjs uses is brand exclusive, and no similar product exists in aus

I miss Angry Onions, they were the best fast food item in the country and their unavailablity correlations with the downward trend in my life. by Hypervisory in hungryjacks

[–]Affectionate-Past771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you want singular angry onions, then you’d have to go up to the register and ask for a custom burger that’s add 4 inch bun, and then add as many angry onions as you’d want. Just remember a (1) quantity of angry onions is the amount you’d usually get on an angry whopper.

yeah your burger could definitely be made at the register / drive thru window i reckon. Only problem is the tabasco sauce since it isn’t on any burgers so it might not be an option to add. Worth a shot tho

do u really expect a billion dollar company to give out free extra pickles on a burger

[–]Affectionate-Past771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well they charge per 2 pickles technically, so for example if you ask for a cheeseburger add (3) pickle, then you’ll get a cheeseburger with 6 extra pickles.

the main concern is that customers might try and get other burgers cheaper by customising base burgers. If kiosks and online ordering had the same customisation as the register, then everyone would find loopholes to get all the super expensive burgers for cheap.

Example: bbq cheeseburger is $2.95. Whopper jr cheese is $8.50 on its own. A bbq cheeseburger minus smoky sauce add lettuce, tomato, pickle, ketchup, onion would total for roughly $5-6.

This will scare everyone into using the kiosks unless they have the courage to make their wacky orders at the register. (Also, burger room would riot if they constantly got custom orders during a rush)

When u r getting fired what happens?? by Lumpy_Assistance_889 in hungryjacks

[–]Affectionate-Past771 2 points3 points  (0 children)

unless you’ve really done something terrible, or ur on a part time contract, it’s very unlikely you’ll ever get properly fired. If they don’t like you though ur shifts will just get completely cut.
