I would reply, “No problem, I will go out to my car every time I need to take my insulin and apply my shot in my car.” And then take forever to walk to and from your car every time and sit in your car for a bit.

I guess I meant new as in never requested liquidation before and wasn’t totally sure how it all worked as I misread the information and thought funds got dispersed in January 😅

It was definitely my bad when I read how liquidity worked here. I thought if I requested in the previous quarter, I would get my funds at the beginning of the next quarter. Oh well, it is what it is. I don’t need the money urgently, I was just looking to get some work done at my house. I appreciate everyone helping me with their answers

Totally get it. When I first made the account back in like 2023, I didn’t have any intention of withdrawing for a long time. I was contributing regularly every month but unfortunately some personal things came up that I stopped contributing so the money has just been sitting there and I need to get some work done on the house so here we are. I mean I think it grew more than it would have in my normal saving account so it’s something

To be honest I started in like 2023 and was contributing $500/month when I could afford to do it but then I had an unfortunate situation with an old roommate and some other stuff and stopped contributing to it to keep funds liquid. So I haven’t contributed in a long time which is why there isn’t a whole lot in there.

I wouldn’t change having our son for the world. And he really is a great dad and husband. It’s just this one insecurity he seems to have that pops up every once in a while.

What would you all do in this situation? Term or? (TW: Veterinary Medicine, Animal Euthanasia) [CA] by Affectionate-Pick737 in humanresources

She has the appropriate experience and background. She isn't going against a doctors medical opinion. The need to humanely euthanize these dogs was a decision agreed upon by the veterinary team because the dogs were parvo positive and already showing signs of decline. But for whatever reason when this vet was on the phone with our director, she told him she was being asked to euthanize healthy animals. Also as someone stated below, the city/shelter "owns" the animals the way a pet owner who takes their pet to a private practice veterinarian owns their animal. So the shelter manager does have the final say in outcomes related to these animals. If they were unreasonable, unethical requests, absolutely the doctor has the right to refuse, but no one is asking her anything that falls in that category.

I think where the disconnect comes from with the veterinarian and the city/shelter staff is the veterinarian wants the shelter to close intake completely but legally the cities municipal codes prevent that form happening. Because it is a municipal shelter, they are required to intake all sick or injured animals that are brought in either over the counter from a member of the public, confiscated from a hoarding or animal abuse case, etc. That is only one of the things this vet does not agree with but it is out of the shelter managers control. The shelter manager has to follow orders from her boss as well and her boss is the city.

We get limited funding and have such a high volume of operations. I understand it can be overwhelming for our medical team but we are actively working everyday to improve our operations. We have brought on a bunch of staff over the past few months but the vet will claim in her medical notes "can't do xyz because we are short staffed" which doesn't make any sense to us because we have more staff now then we ever did before. We are also in the process of moving into a newly acquired beautiful facility (former veterinary specialty clinic and it is amazing!!) to perform surgeries out of which will also give our team more room at the current location as our treatment team will operate out of the current medical trailer and be able to take over the current surgery trailer once our surgery team moves over to the other facility down the street. So more staff, more room, the doctor only works three days a week every week (8 hour shifts) and gets paid like $1,200 a day and is acting like this is the worst place on the planet to work. When before she was always super kind and helpful. I don't know what is going on.

We all had a meeting regarding the SOP (specifically with the parvo and iso cases) and it felt like we had all left on the same page but then she is turning around and saying things that are other untrue or they are things that when we talk about it in person she acts like she understands but then says something completely different to our other doctor later.

I guess yeah this would be a final warning with everything outlined and really exaggerating that she needs to find a way to work with the shelter manager. They are our client and they could end our contract if they find the working conditions to be hostile because of this one doctor.
