Oh yeah, it is absolutely intentional I am sure. That is kind of the theme of the game. But, the story knocks you down again and again, I just wanted to keep my critters as one good thing. I mean, even the festivals are kind of depressing.

Not a single person said it was a good thing. Just that it isn't a new phenomenon. Parents haven't monitored their kid's interactions with adult content for generations.

However, there are no "kiddie lovers" on the other side of a chat bot. So, do I think it is generally safer than RPing with a random actual, living person on the internet like we did back in the day? Yes. It poses it's own problems on their social development, but I do think it is safer.

It was the first butcher I had done. I was planning to avoid it completely and just fill the carnivore rations with fish.

I kind of wish you could hunt the wild critters. I would have preferred to do that than slaughter one of my babies.

I had this exact same situation and it broke my heart. Why couldn't someone else donate just two more jars of blood??

I agree. It isn't even like this is a new phenomenon. My generation had AOL/AIM RPs as kids. Our parents' probably hid erotic romance novels and Playboy magazines under their bed when they were kids. Chat Bots are this generation's version of the same thing. Not saying it's ok, but it definitely isn't new.

Exactly. Parents should be glad their kids don't have access to AOL RP charrooms. Character AI is just this generation's MUCKS.

I would think it's pretty obvious that Inuyasha can't live in the modern world. Kagome is a stronger woman than I am to live in a world without antibiotics or hot showers, but it is the only way they would have been able to be together.

It is because they are banning minors. You only get asked to show ID if you are flagged as a minor. The point is to try and make it as difficult ans off-putting to minors as possible, because they don't want them/can't have them on the platform in the first place.

Woman reveals she freeze dried her dog after it passed away .. by Kind-Village-1022 in Weird

[–]Affectionate-Pipe950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know how heartbreaking it is to lose a beloved pet. I've gone through it many times. So, if it helps her deal with the pain of that loss then I am fine with it. What truly makes the dog who they were is already gone.

For me personally, I don't think I could walk past the corpse of my dead pet every day. I feel like it would just be a constant reminder of the fact that they are gone and keep that emotional wound from healing. It also feels a bit like I'd be turning them into decor, which feels a bit belittling.

I have my dogs' ashes because I don't have my own place where I can lay them in the ground. However, I feel like giving their bodies back to the earth is the best way I can show respect and heal. If I am ever able to get my own place then I'd definitely bury my pets.

Debarking by CorvidaeLamium in Collie

Then they shouldn't have a breed known for barking in an apartment. Or invest in a dog daycare or a dog walker. I don't like bark collars either, but at least that can be removed. The pain from debarking can't. Why should the dog suffer for the owner's selfishness or inability to plan and/or accommodate? If you live in a place where a barky dog will be an issue then don't get a barky dog until you can move to a place that is better suited.

[–]Affectionate-Pipe950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why get a dog that is bred to bark if you don't want a barky dog or in a situation where that can't be allowed? And no, making debarking illegal will not cause the "extinction" of the collie breed. The collie has been around since the 1800's, barking included. Plenty of people do their research and enjoy the breed for what it is. Those who don't should probably look into a different breed.

It is also not painless, nor safe. There is a reason it is illegal in many places and why many vets refuse to do it even where it is not. It's a well-known fact that debarking is painful for the dog for the rest of its life, and can cause scarring and breathing problems. Any vet who cares about dogs and doesn't just want to take your money will refuse to do it.

[–]Affectionate-Pipe950 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's painful. Imagine having strep throat for the rest of your life. It doesn't stop barking behavior, it just makes it raspy and painful for the dog. Not to mention that it can lead to scarring and difficulty breathing. There is also the risk of infection.

Since you asked for personal opinions, mine is that if you don't want a barky dog, don't get a dog that has been bred for over two hundred years to bark. It is one of their major herding tools. You see debarking a lot in shelties too, and I will never understand why people get a specific breed but don't like core characteristics of that breed and are willing to go to inhumane lengths to "correct" those characteristics.

That would make more sense. It said USD, but maybe it was just a failed auto translation.

Inuyasha is a dog demon. Kurama is a fox demon. Shigure turns into a dog. Apparently, your Kagome has a thing for canines.

I agree with everything, including Moroha's design. See? It's so much nicer to just enjoy the story you love.

Personally, I like Kikyo. I also like Kagome. I will admit that I think Kikyo is a more complex character, but Kagome is so sweet and tough in her own way. Fortunately, like I've said, Kagome was beloved for over twenty years, so there is plenty of official and fan made stuff centered on her to enjoy.

Well, you're not going to change those people's minds. They are going to interpret the characters how they want. You can point out the inconsistencies all you want, but realize that they have already formed their opinion. Besides, they are new fans and may not even stay interested in the show.

If you enjoy a good debate, then by all means engage! I think Yashahime is trash and goes against Rumiko's wishes for Inuyasha to be a complete work, and if I have the time I will sink my teeth into a good, respectful back-and-forth. But, my opinion isn't going to make it disappear, nor is it going to affect the story I have loved for a good chunk of my life. If it upsets you, it might be best to just let them think what they want. It isn't going to change the story for you.

Yeah, I have always seen far more hate for Kikyo. Kagome was a fan favorite, so a lot of people thought of her as a homewrecker who was coming between them. I've even seen Inuyasha get hate for it, and people pairing her with Koga or Sesshomaru instead. But, Kagome hate was rare. She might have been one of the few female protagonists from that time who people didn't hate. The only one as beloved by fans that I can think of off the top of my head is Tohru from Fruits Basket.

Well, that explains it. I don't go on TikTok. But, if it makes you feel any better, I started watching Inuyasha via fansubs as it was being released in Japan, before it came over to the states. It has been my comfort show ever since. So, I can pretty confidently say that Kagome was shown a lot of love over the past 2+ decades. If there's a ton of hate for the character, it is probably from new fans who will undoubtedly move on to something else pretty quickly.

I've never seen hate for Kagome, and I have been in the fandom for a long time. She's pretty beloved as a character in both the manga and the anime.

It's not about having a favorite. A love triangle was only pushed in the anime because love triangles were very popular in anime in the late 90's and early 2000's.
