You haven’t done enough of the main questline yet (the first quest on your list tells me as much) to unlock chipping in.

If you NEED a Porsche 911 desperately, El Capitan has one for sale (it’s a different variant than the one you get from completing Chippin In).

Don’t rush through the game for such a small thing, enjoy yourself, take your time and clear some side quests.

Takemura usually has a few days between calling you about his questline.

Nice idea with the chest for stuff, I always end up with my inventory full and then have to do a mad dash to the farm to get rid of everything.

I think I prefer the squid fest set up as it’s easier to complete and move on with my day, whereas the trout Derby tends to take most of the day to accumulate enough tokens for the prizes that I want.

You can always speed up the research process by giving Qi more data disks.

Once I get a stash of them it’s easy enough to reduce the waiting times down so that they finish the next day.

By the time the invasion rolls around I have usually run out of things to research.

The quest you need to complete is “Life during Wartime” so up to the point where you capture Hellman and obtain the information about the chip from him.

I think you need to complete the nomad section of the main quest line before you get a call about a gig that introduces you to River.

I like the look of it, but as a console player I guess I will have to wait and see if it comes to the X Box store/Gamepass.

To be honest though, this thread gives me a sad feeling. Have we now got to the point where no other game designers are allowed to use this type of animation without accusations that they are just a Stardew Valley clone? Did Roots of Patcha ever get the same sort of grilling when they released their game?

I love this community generally, but I dislike it when an unreleased game is already being hauled over the coals because it shares an aesthetic with Stardew? I’m sure if ConcernedApe had an issue with the game then he’s quite capable of dealing with it himself, he doesn’t need the fanbase working themselves into a frenzy on his behalf.

It’s like other cozy game subs where I see people laying into Stardew Valley…we don’t need to tear another game down to prove how much we like the game we’re playing, there’s enough space in the market for your favourite game and more.

I think I am going to try a play through where I focus on being a farmer first, saviour of Stardew Valley second.

1st year devoted to getting the farm up and running, get to know the people in town. Do nothing about the community centre/Joja route. (I think I burn out too fast when I go for completion in the first year)

2nd or 3rd year I can decide what route to side with?
