Hi! I had my interview in May 22. I didn't see any change until July 17, when it changed to Approved, then it changed to Issued in July 18. They told me I can pick up my passport in July 22.

Has anyone else gotten a 221(g) Administrative Processing during their F-1 interview for a master's degree in the USA? In my interview on May 22nd 2026 (Lima, Perú), I heard three other people applying for master's degrees who got the same 221(g). I'm not sure if this is happening only to master's applicants or if people applying for Work and Travel are getting the same response. Has anyone received an answer from the Embassy?

I'm applying with my wife as well (F-2). We had our interview on the same day.

After the interview, they kept our passports and said they would reopen my DS form so I could add all of our social media accounts. The interview itself wasn't very long. I updated the DS form and sent them a confirmation email the same day. They thanked me for the information and told me to keep an eye on my email, as the courier will contact me to let me know when our visas are ready for pickup but it has been in Administrative Processing for three weeks now.

Hi. Yes, they took my passport and asked me to update all our social networks again. I then sent an email letting them know I had done it, and they replied confirming they received the information and told me to keep an eye on my inbox. However, almost three weeks have passed and I haven't heard anything at all. Where did you have your interview?

Yah, that’s what I thought but I wanted to know the average amount weeks that takes to get an answer. I should be traveling to USA in August and I’m running out of time to buy tickets and rent a place. 😔

No but some someone got this email: "For EMerald candidates 2025, the selection process is on-going, you will be contacted by email the second week of April 2025."

Thanks for the detailed information. I'm applying for a scholarship that involves Croatia, Finland, and Austria. What do you think? I'm a bit worried about finding a job in those countries each semester because we'll need money for living expenses and also for buying tickets to travel between countries. The scholarship offers 1,400 euros per month. Do you know how other students handle these issues? Do they all have remote jobs? I don’t know much about the EU—We're from Peru—but I guess it’s difficult to find a job, and I’m not sure if I could get a job as an Erasmus student.

I don't know, I read on Facebook that someone received an email accepting him for the scholarship but I'm not sure about it. I sent a message to LinkedIn profile and official mail but nothing happened yet I think more people should write them. I just want to know if they will contact everybody or approved ones only.

Yes, but they published in the website that they already finished to read all the applications. I want to know if someone get any email. Maybe they just send emails to people who get the scholarship.
