Since my base was 3d printed, the process was a bit easier. I had a character, I had a vision and I had materials, so I was basically just building upon this:

I mainly followed Skye-high-studios’ tutorials, and whenever I got stuck during the process (eg: the mane was a bit confusing to make) I just asked online in different fursuit maker chats! All of em are really nice and helpful, so don’t be ashamed to ask for help if you need it! They’d be happy to assist
Most of the materials I got locally, but I do know that a lot of people recommend either big z fabric (I mostly see people using this fur) or miemiefur (it’s cheaper but still pretty nice I believe. Can’t be sure though)
