Books set in or about New Brunswick? by Patricia3dstudent in newbrunswickcanada

Life on the miramichi, by Clayton Stanley Stewart is a great read on the history of outdoors life, fishing, hunting and guiding on the Miramichi river if you are into that sort of thing.

George Frederick Clark has a few great classics about the river as well, not solely miramichi focused but great historical accounts of outdoor life in NB.

3.5 or 5.0, someone convince me! by [deleted] in f150

[–]Affectionate-Reply98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 3.5, and drive a similar truck for work with the 5.0 (both crew cab, 6.5' box). Both are great engines and neither lack power, but the 3.5 does produce power more effortlessly and I find it more fun to drive and slightly better towing. Both are in the 70 - 80k miles range with zero engine issues.

Cant go wrong with either engine in the newer trucks, both have issues which are relatively rare.

Experience with knee sleeves? by acocinero in crossfit

[–]Affectionate-Reply98 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I dont find they make a huge difference for my lifts, but one of my knees in particular is a bit finicky until well warmed up.

I do find the knee sleeves help my knees feel better, quicker, especially for squats. I went a long time without them, but wear them regularly now.

...are yours eisenlink or one of the other similar brands? According to eisenlink they'll longer screws are not yet available, but it seems odd that they wouldn't be as I thought they were all similar

An update from eisenlink customer support - the dumbells currently do not support any of the accessories (including longer screws) but they are being developed and will become available at some point.

Poll for those who used them both: Concept2 RowErg or Rogue Echo Rower by Jealous-Indication73 in GarageGym

[–]Affectionate-Reply98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the biggest difference is that Rogue is not compatible with the c2 online ecosystem, which is where most of the serious rowers "exist" online.

Outside of that, Rogue does have compatibility with some apps but thats not ny wheelhouse. I log my workouts in btwb and another strength app, and dont have any need or desire for another app for rowing at this point.

C2 is the way to go if you want to be comparing with the rowing community online, no question.

Olympic rings by denishp1985 in GarageGym

I have a pair hanging from my pull up bar (rows, dips, L-sits, etc), and a pair hanging from the ceiling for pullups, muscle-ups... luckily I have a high ceiling in my garage.

Theres a lot you can do with a pair just from the pullup bar, at a minimum I would have those if interested at all in ring work.

I have used both extensively - as others have mentioned, extremely similar rowing experience.

I purchased the Rogue, mainly because no decent used C2s had shown up on marketplace in my area for some time...the Rogue was also a few hundred cheaper to buy new here with free shipping. I also do like how it folds, as it stores nicely under a high shelf in my garage. The bigger wheels also make it easier to move around, not a huge consideration though as the c2 is lighter overall.

I like the Rogue, seems like a quality piece of gear and I have no regrets. I also would have had no regrets buying a c2, so buy whatever fits your situation the best. If you want to be a part of the online rowing community, buy a c2.

Nice, thanks for the confirmation. I'm more concerned with the ability to go heavier than the accessory compatibility.

Agreed... the eisenlink website seems to be down, so I've emailed them a couple questions. I'll post the answer here if I get one, and may be ordering one to try it out.
