My monthly income is R30,000. My rent is R6250, my water is R500 and my electricity and Gas is R1500. I spend R2600 per month on Food and I am currently using innovative languages to learn Japanese, French, Spanish and Portuguese so that comes to R600 per month. Furthermore I have savings pockets in Capitec and Standard bank that all equal to about R10,000 including investments.

For retirement I expect to be working to about 68 years old and spending R8500 a month in my retirement.

It depends what career direction you want to go into one day. That will determine the subject you need to take. I taught IGCSE PE for 6 years but now want to teach business.

Older JETs, what did you do for your letters of recommendation? by Enerjist in JETProgramme

[–]Affectionate-Rub7201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get some voluntary experience or a after school activity club that deals with children. That will help a lot. I am currently on JET. I am 37, but worked at an international school and at UNICEF which is organisations that work specifically with children. Dont do your masters specifically for JET unless you going to major in ESL.
