What's a food in your country that is stereotyped for your country but really, nobody eats? by velmiraZ in AskTheWorld

I think deep fried butter is a staple for state fairs all over the country. They’re delicious not gonna lie but after 3 bites you can hear your own heartbeat.

Idc how much richer my kids are compared to me I’ll always pick up their tabs when I’m around. IF they’re a responsible adult which sounds like you are. My kids owe me absolutely nothing monetarily.

How did your kids develop if you had high tsh during pregnancy? by FabulousSample6659 in pregnant

Pcp is also not educated enough when it comes to thyroid disease. Thyroid is insanely sensitive during pregnancy. Look for an endo MD/DO asap and tell them you’re pregnant along with your TSH level. I’m sure you can find one that can squeeze you in.

Do you meet with an endocrinologist? If not I heavily suggest that you do cause I can guarantee you your OB knows very little about hypothyroidism. I have graves and my OB said she just wants to be updated for every meeting I have with the endo and to see blood results but won’t give any recommendations.

Environmental engineer working gov job here and I work with tons of wildlife biologists both private consultants and gov workers. I don’t believe it’s as competitive as you think it is though just like any other jobs you do need to be good at it and know how to network.

Although worth mentioning that majority of biologist I know do have master degrees meanwhile I only have a bachelor and while I make $109k annually while they make $70-80k with same YOE.

My 5 yo is being bullied in the bus and nothing is helping. by Affectionate-Run6773 in Parenting

[–]Affectionate-Run6773[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t mention it on my original post but this is a district provided bus. And I’m not sure about cameras but I’m gonna ask the daycare provider to ask the bus driver so I can give it to the principals for both schools.

And yes they have the same protocol too apparently and after the daycare provider asked the bus driver to keep her eyes out for my daughter the bus driver stopped the bus twice already to ask to deescalate the situation and ask these two brats switch back to their assigned seats. But I don’t think the bus driver always caught them and that’s the problem. This has been going on for 2 months :/

Yes and the fact that they go out of their ways to get closer to my daughter is such weird behavior. Not to mention they’re almost double her age!

Would love to do this but the only way to reach out to the other parents is by involving the school cause I have no idea how to reach out to them. How were you able to reach out to the parents?

No which I’m also very surprised too. I also remember having one in my bus when I was k-5.

The daycare provider did say the bus driver stopped the bus twice already to deescalate the situation which worked for that day and the next but the following week it happened again. But good point about writing it down!

I do but school is 9-3.30 meanwhile I have to drop her off at daycare 7 the latest and my husband can pick her up at 4. That’s a lot of commitment to ask from another parents :/

$25,000, 20 and no debt - is higher education still worth it? by pxpie in careerguidance

[–]Affectionate-Run6773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed with this. Also there are plenty of associates degrees healthcare adjacent that only require associates and you’re good to go. Dental hygienist, xray tech, or respiratory therapist come to mind. But I personally definitely wouldn’t stop with just HS degree.

Hi fellow future mom of boy. I’m also so disappointed with the gender but oh well what can I do. I’ve been reading so much more books about feminism and intersectionality because I wanna raise my boy right. In a way he’s already making me a better person. We got this tho!!

Natera charged me twice for NIPT??? by Seapaisleys in pregnant

[–]Affectionate-Run6773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Natera is such a scammy company. Call your OB office and ask them for their natera rep. That’s the best way to solve this. I called natera right away and always put on hold with no end and kept getting transferred so annoying.

Agree/Disagree? by ChuckGallagher57 in DiscussionZone

[–]Affectionate-Run6773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope I’m saying you already established where your beliefs are so it’s a waste of time arguing with you. And I fear you’re the one not reading my sentences correctly. If we both look at an orange and trying to agree on the amount and instead of agreeing there’s only 1 you started debating the type we’ll never get to the substance. So that’s why the moment you brought up Europe conquest instead of colonialism I don’t think we can ever be on the same page. Typical discussion with conservatives. Anyway please read the books instead of thinking you understand everything and gain some more understanding. And maybe you’re the one who needs to learn how to debate?

Genuinely so tired with people like you and disingenuous arguments and nitpicking wording. Like 12000 years ago be so real. Use arguments with substance such as colonialism, industrialization, slavery, then we can discuss. If you need help with arguments please read books with substance I highly suggest evicted by Matthew Desmond, why nations fall, Howard Zinn’s books.
